Chapter 805

    ?Chapter 805:

“I am right that you’ve been digging into my past,” Ellie stated with certainty. Staying silent, Kaiden understood she was steering the conversation away.

“Well, my previous encounters with Kristopher were because you hadn’t exined things to me,” Ellie mumbled.

Kaiden took a deep breath and gently tilted Ellie’s chin to face him. “I’m upset because you lied to me, Ellie!”

Her anger had subsided, but his frustration was still palpable.

“Ellie, you’ve lied to me twice, all because of Kristopher!”

Suddenly, the rm clock set by Ellie rang, shattering the intense and anxious atmosphere in the car.

It signaled the end of Omiros’s exam.

Ten minutester, Omiros, emerging from his first exam, was taken aback to find Kaiden waiting for him.

“Thought you’d be swamped today,” Omiros remarked, showing a token concern for Kaiden.

Kaiden nced at him and chose not to respond.

Omiros was left without words. To someone like Kaiden, others’ concern must seem redundant.

Ellie had reserved some light, tasty dishes at a private restaurant ahead of time. During the meal, Omiros couldn’t help but feel the tension between Ellie and Kaiden. Seizing the moment when Kaiden stepped away to take a call, Omiros leaned in and whispered to Ellie.

“Hey, did you guys have a fight?”

“No.” Ellie kept her voice even.

She and Kaiden had promised not to let their disagreements affect Omiros, especially not during his exams.

“Maybe he lost a huge chunk of change in business?” Omiros made a guess, then dismissed his own spection with a shrug. “Nah, he’s loaded. That kind of money’s nothing to him!”

Kaiden ended his call and returned in time to overhear Omiros’sment, giving him a yful pat on the head.

    Omiros offered a sheepish grin.

“Just keep your head in the game; exams first, worriester.”

Noticing his preupied look, Ellie inquired, “How do you feel about the exam you just finished?”

Kaiden’s gaze followed Omiros as well.

With a nonchnt shrug, Omiros replied, “I gave it my all. Now it’s up to the teachers and their grading.”

Kaiden looked away from Omiros, an air of disapproval surrounding him.

Ellie exhaled a quiet sigh, already dreading theplexities of parenthood ahead.
