Chapter 803

    ?Chapter 803:

In an attempt to ease the rising tension, she signaled Kristopher to leave swiftly. However, Kaiden stepped forward and demanded an exnation.

“Mr. Wright, what business do you have with my wife?”

Kaiden pulled Ellie into his arms, as if shielding her from a potential adversary.

Kristopherughed dismissively. “Nothing. I’m just chatting with her.”

His curt reply and tauntingugh only intensified Kaiden’s irritation, prompting him to push for further answers.

Ellie, tugging at Kaiden’s sleeve, hurriedly bid Kristopher farewell. “Goodbye, Mr. Wright! It’s been great chatting with you!”

Kristopher had initially intended to speak with Kaiden but decided against it after hearing Ellie’s words.

“Bye.” He nodded to her before getting into his car, which sped away within seconds.

Now alone with Kaiden, Ellie faced the daunting task of exining the situation to him.

She stammered, “I just bumped into him. It wasn’t a nned meeting.” Her exnation sounded unconvincing, especially to Kaiden, who responded with a skeptical eye roll.

This wasn’t the first time he had found her in Kristopher’spany.

“If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, you wouldn’t have told me. You’d probably have passed him off as just an ordinary friend, just likest time,” he remarked bitterly.

Ellie helplessly bit her lip for a moment, unsure of how to respond.

Suddenly, a realization dawned on her. She turned to Kaiden, unching a barrage of questions. “How did you know I was with Kristopherst time? Did you have someone follow me or conduct an investigation?” Her frustration boiled over into anger.

Kaiden’s jealousy felt suffocating, but she knew he shouldn’t have been monitoring her. His surveince crossed a line. He had no right to infringe upon her privacy.

Kaiden growled, “Ellie, I thought I told you to keep your distance from Kristopher!”

“Why should I avoid Kristopher? He is my friend. Can’t I choose my own friends?” Ellie hissed.

“Has he truly only considered you as a friend?” Kaiden sneered.

Hecked proof, and Kristopher hadn’t overtly crossed any lines. Yet, the pictures Kristopher had taken of Ellie stirred a jealousy in Kaiden that he couldn’t shake off.

Ellie’s smile carried a hint of mockery as she spoke.

“Doesn’t your question about Kristopher and me remind you of something, Kaiden? It’s just like when you insisted Carole was merely a friend. But honestly? Everyone’s aware of Carole’s feelings for you!”

With those words, Ellie turned on her heel and climbed into the car. She was done talking to him.

Kaiden’s expression darkened, and he stood frozen as Ellie delivered her final words. He had always sensed Carole’s intentions, yet he had refused to acknowledge them. Admitting it meant conceding that his brother’s affection for Carole was misced from the start. Moreover, he was bound by his brother’s dying wish to look after Carole and protect her as needed.
