    “Yep, I definitely did not say that.” Ellie pushed him back so she could sit up properly, then kissed his shoulder. She grinned at him and said, “There, are you happy now?”


    Kaiden raised an eyebrow.


    She kissed him again, this time on the base of his throat. His eyes shifted as he let out a low chuckle.


    It had only been two small pecks, and he was utterly defeated.


    Kaiden knew that Ellie was ying a trick on him, but he didn’t mind. He enjoyed it after all.


    Ellie, on the other hand, was savoring her small victory when he suddenly pounced on her. The next thing she knew, she was pinned to the bed, with his knee between her legs.


    Kaiden leaned in for a kiss while his hands roamed under her clothes. Ellie groaned and broke the kiss.


    “You said you would spare me!” she protested.


    Kaiden nced at her swollen lips andughed again. “I said I would spare you, but I didn’t say when.”


    Yes, he would spare her—but not tonight.


    The next day, Ellie didn’t wake up until ten in the morning. Even then, she was so sore that she stayed in bed for another half hour before slowly trudging downstairs.


    She was greeted by the sweet sound of the violin, and only then did she remember that there was another person in the house.


    “Good morning, El,” Brisa greeted her with a kind smile.


    “Good morning,” Ellie replied, her face flushed with embarrassment. “I’m sorry I overslept.”


    “Oh, never mind that. It’s actually a good thing. Before Kaiden left for work, he expressly told me not to wake you up. He said that you slepttest night and that you were exhausted.”

    There was a glint of mischief in Brisa’s eyes. She might as well have said outright that they had been having sex all night.


    Ellie’s face turned a deeper shade of red. She didn’t know what to say, so she just pretended to be clueless about Brisa’s suggestive words.


    In the afternoon, Baylee called Ellie to invite her to dinner.


    “A dinner party?” Ellie asked in confusion. “Why do I need to take Kaiden with me?”


    “I just graduated from being single, so I’m going to celebrate!” Baylee squealed with excitement before adding, “Marvin is paying for everything.”


    Ellie stood up in surprise. “Wait, you’re together?”


    On the other side, Baylee was grinning like a fool. “That’s right.”


    Now that Marvin had expressed his desire to have her as his girlfriend, how could she not take the matter seriously?
