Chapter 774

    ?Chapter 774:

“I see. I appreciate your help,” Kaiden replied, just before ending the call.

As soon as the call was over, Ellie pulled away from him.

“Carole was trying to tell you something. Didn’t you get her implication?” she asked, tilting her head defiantly.

“And what was she suggesting?” Kaiden swiftly took hold of Ellie’s wrist, pulling her close and wrapping her in his embrace once more.

Ellie ticked off the points on her fingers. “She mentioned feeling lonely while being overseas by herself, which implies she’s thinking ofing back. She expressed a desire for you to be happy, showcasing her gentleness andpassion.”

Kaiden remained indifferent. “That’s her perspective.” He decided to disregard Carole’s words.

Ellie felt reassured by his response.

Carole had hoped to leverage the evidence of Kaiden’s innocence in Leo’s death to pressure Ellie into leaving Kaiden, but to her surprise, Ellie stood her ground and refused to be swayed.

Kaiden, for his part, didn’t reach out to Carole, denying her any opportunity. Eventually, Carole had to reach out to the media herself to present the information.

She had yed her cards well.

Her actions led many who had forgotten about her to recall her name once again. And to some extent, it seemed Kaiden was now in Carole’s debt, at least ording to public perception.

As Ellie drifted off to sleep, Kaiden’s thoughts lingered on Leo.

Despite Leo’s despair, which drove him toward suicide, the mystery of the fire puzzled Kaiden. The fire was so intense that the servants were powerless to extinguish it, indicating it wasn’t just any ordinary fire.

It appeared as though the fire had been meticulously nned.

If Leo had indeed arranged for something like gasoline to fuel the fire, the question remained: Who helped him, and why didn’t this person alert anyone to Leo’s suicidal intentions?

The deeper Kaiden delved into these thoughts, the darker his expression grew.

Baylee didn’t head straight home. Instead, she first stopped by downtown to pick up some flowers.

As the elevator doors slid open, she was taken aback. Standing at her door was a tall man with strikingly long legs, his eyebrows arching slightly at the sight of her.

“Are those flowers for me?” Marvin asked, wearing a smile.

“That’s your wishful thinking,” Baylee replied, holding a bouquet of Eustoma grandiflorum.

“What brings you here?” she inquired.

    “I came to see you.”

“Why didn’t youe inside and wait for me there?” Unlocking the door with her fingerprint, Baylee stepped in, adding, “You were standing outside the door like a thief checking out the ce.”
