Chapter 765

    ?Chapter 765:

The reporter looked gloomy at the threat. “Are you threatening us? Kaiden is the one who’s in trouble, not us.”

“Yes, I’m threatening you. And what does Kaiden have to do with this?” Danielughed. “Oh, I should introduce myself. I’m Daniel Lambert. If Ellie gets hurt because of your actions, feel free to test your luck.”

As Daniel and Susanna walked away, one reporter remembered. “Isn’t Daniel one of the Lambert guys who moved overseas?”

The Lambert surname was memorable, reflecting their influence.

“How did Ellie end up involved with the Lambert family?”

“Why is Daniel protecting Ellie but disregarding Kaiden? What’s going on?”

Knowing the Lambert family’s protective reputation, reporters who had thought about using Ellie for their stories, especially the one who had almost caused her harm, quickly dropped the idea, now filled with fear.

“Hey, let me down!” Ellie protested, feeling the eyes of everyone on her as she hid her face in Kaiden’s chest, embarrassed to be seen.

“Didn’t you hurt your ankle? Just stay still,” Kaiden said firmly, his expression serious, but his arms gently holding her in a princess carry.

Carried all the way to her apartment by Kaiden, Ellie saw the shocked and gossiping faces of the security guards at the entrance and decided she would go back to Moon Manor the next day, vowing never to live here again. As the elevator doors swung open, Ellie reached to unlock the door with her fingerprint when Kaiden’s embrace tightened.

“Ah!” she gasped, suddenly cradled in his arms.

He held her as one would a child.

Using one hand, Kaiden unlocked the door and gently ced Ellie on the sofa, his emotions barely contained.

“Kaiden, those reporters chase every bit of gossip, willing to do whatever it takes for a story,” she said, trying to ease his worry.

“Which foot is it that you hurt?” Kaiden inquired, as if he hadn’t noticed her attempt to soothe him.

    “The right one.”

He carefully slipped off Ellie’s shoe to check her ankle.

Seeing no serious swelling brought him a sigh of relief. Looking into her beautiful eyes, he confessed, “I’m just upset you were injured.”

Ellie blinked, taking in his words.

“Ellie, I wasn’t with you today because you asked me not to be, and then this happened.” Kaiden, crouching before her, rested her right foot, now in a white sock, on his knee. “Do I need to keep an eye on you all the time?”

Ellie felt her heart skip a beat at his question.

She sighed, “It was just an ident.”
