?Chapter 752:
Overwhelmed, Ellie found herself at a loss for words.
Post-interview, as dinner time approached, Ellie suggested they go out to eat as a token of her appreciation.
“Do you intend to cook?” Kristopher asked, intrigued.
“Um…” Ellie confessed, “I believe you’d prefer the expertise of a professional chef. Culinary arts are not my forte.”
“Have you ever cooked for Mr. Thorpe?” Kristopher then broached the subject of Kaiden.
Ellie shook her head in denial. “No, chefs always handle the cooking in our home.”
Kaiden had never cooked for her either; in this regard, they were on equal footing.
Kristopher appeared delighted by her response, proposing with a smile, “Then, to a restaurant we shall go.”
Kristopher selected a secluded French bistro, known for weing just two tables of patrons daily. It promised an intimate dining experience.
Upon their arrival, Kristopher chose not to seat himself immediately. Instead, he allowed Ellie the pleasure of exploring the ambiance on her own.
Thirty minutes passed, and a waiter began presenting an array of dishes: ck forest cake, ck truffle mushroom soup, sirloin steak, and a fresh sd adorned the table.
After some time had psed, Kristopher returned, cleansing his hands with a warm towel before taking his ce across from Ellie.
“Mr. Wright, my apologies for not recognizing you earlier,” Ellie admitted, her voice tinged with difort. “You deserve my gratitude.”
“It’s no trouble at all,” he replied smoothly.
He pondered whether her gratitude would remain if she were to discover the entire truth behind their meeting.
Driven by curiosity, Ellie ventured, “When did you first recognize me?”

Kristopher held her gaze for a moment before revealing, “From the very beginning.”
His admission hinted at more than mere recognition; Ellie had been in his thoughts continually.
With a softness in her voice, Ellie acknowledged, “I understand.”
Despite Kristopher’s early recognition, Ellie had not remembered him until he made himself known to her again.
“You have no reason to apologize,” Kristopher assured her, as if reading her mind. “It’s quite natural that you didn’t recognize me.”
Their paths had not crossed again after their initial, rain-soaked encounter.
After their meal, Ellie declined Kristopher’s offer to drive her home.
Upon reaching the entrance of her apartmentplex, she encountered three figures. The strict security measures at the apartmentplex restricted ess beyond the gate to residents only.
