?Chapter 753:
“El!” Susanna’s voice broke through the distance, her hand waving energetically. Standing by Susanna, Daniel offered Ellie a weing nod.
“El, I heard from Susanna that you’re living here now,” said Flossie, her gaze flickering uneasily towards Ellie.
Noticing Flossie’s hesitance, Ellie guided her to a more private space.
“El, Levy left his outfit at my ce. Could you let me know the next time you all are hanging out? I’d like to return it to him,” Flossie mentioned, a hint of awkwardness in her voice.
“You guys are dating, why don’t you reach out to him directly?” Ellie inquired, puzzled.
“We… broke up,” Flossie confessed, the weight of those words hanging between them.
Ellie was taken aback. Though she internally felt it was for the best that Flossie and Levy had parted ways, the sorrow and self-derision in Flossie’s eyes spoke volumes.
“Flossie, Levy won’t miss that outfit. Or, you could hand it over to me, and I’ll make sure he gets it,” Ellie suggested, sensing the ulterior motive behind Flossie’s request.
Hearing Ellie’s gentle insinuation, Flossie’s facade crumbled. “You’re right. I can’t seem to let him go. El, I desperately want to see him again.”
“Flossie, have you lost your senses?” Ellie’s concern was palpable, yet she kept her voice low to avoid drawing attention from Daniel and Susanna nearby. “Levy isn’t right for you. That’s what his friends Kaiden and Jerome have been saying. Men understand each other better. If his own friends say he’s not a good match, there’s truth to it.”
Flossie clutched at her clothes, her eyes brimming with turbulent emotions, resembling someone caught in a relentless struggle against the tide.
After a moment, Flossie mustered all her courage and looked up. “I know all this, but El, I’ve loved him for ten years. I want to fight for it. He wasn’t like this before. Maybe I’m the one who can make him change.”
“You…” Ellie was taken aback and fell silent. Ten years. That was not a short time in anyone’s life. “Well, I’ll help you this time,” she finally said.
Endless adventures await on gα?ησν????s
“Thank you, El!” Flossie embraced Ellie, her happiness evident in her tight hug.
After parting ways with Flossie, Ellie approached Daniel and Susanna.
“Sorry it took so long. What did you want to talk about?”
Susanna’s smile was easy and carefree. “Nothing. I was just passing by and thought I’d see if I could catch you. Didn’t Mr. Thorpe head out on a business trip? I’m here to keep youpany.”
“How about we have a cup of tea at my ce?” Ellie suggested, considering they were already in her neighborhood.
She half-expected Daniel to decline, but to her surprise, he agreed without hesitation.
Ellie was at a loss for words. Wasn’t Daniel usually not so open to visiting others? As they walked ahead, Daniel broached a topic with Ellie.
“That Miss Yount seems to have been Levy’s girlfriend.”
“Ex-girlfriend,” Ellie corrected.
“Miss Yount and Levy grew up together, right? I was under the impression Levy would end up with her this time.”
