?Chapter 723:
It seemed Kaiden had no ns to entertain anyone for a meal. A servant wouldn’t have thought to make such preparations, so Ellie assumed Kaiden must have given specific instructions.
He came up behind her, feigning cluelessness as she surveyed everything.
Needless to say, he had nned everything. Of course, he didn’t want a third party toe, even briefly, and disrupt their peaceful life here. The house was small enough as it was.
The master bedroom had been prepared for them, while the spare bedroom was converted into a study. It featured two desks side by side, with drawers already filled with stationery and other office supplies. Each desk had aptop, a tablet, and a printer. Kaiden had really thought of everything.
Ellie plopped down behind one desk, preparing for her lesson, while Kaiden sat at his own desk and got to work.
Ellie looked around the small room, then at the man next to her. Her chest warmed at the thought that they were just like any ordinary young couple.
“Is that an invitation, Mrs. Thorpe?” Kaiden suddenly asked with a sigh, turning away from hisptop to look at her.
She had been staring at him for half an hour, and he had barely made any progress on the document he was supposed to be reviewing. She was just sitting there, not saying anything, and yet she was already affecting his productivity.
Ellie flinched, realizing toote what she had been doing. Her ears burned with embarrassment, and she quickly cleared her throat. “The university is hosting a singingpetition today. Do you want to go and join the fun?”
Although Kaiden said nothing, his expression made it clear that her suggestion was utterly boring to him. He would much rather stay home with Ellie.
She swiveled in her chair to face him and tugged at his sleeve. “Come on, Kaiden. Come with me. Our cultural performances are actually high-quality productions.”

Ellie had attended once, back when she was still in college. But in the following years, she had been too busy to indulge in such leisurely activities.
Kaiden smiled wryly at her attempt to be yful. He lifted her chin with his index finger and said, “If you beg me some more, maybe I’ll go with you.”
A moment of silence passed.
Ellie slowly dropped her smile, then swiveled away with a soft snort. “If you won’t go, I’ll just go by myself. My underssman went to great lengths to save me tickets.”
Her underssman? The name Howard immediately popped into Kaiden’s mind.
“I’ll go,” he said, his voice softer, as he pulled her onto hisp. “I’ll go with you.”
To blend in with the crowd, Ellie wore a simple T-shirt and a pair of jeans, finishing the outfit with white sneakers. She decided not to wear any makeup, which gave her a fresh, youthful look, almost like a first-year student. After thinking it over for a moment, she grabbed a ck mask to cover the lower half of her face, leaving only her gorgeous eyes exposed.
For Kaiden, she chose a in ck T-shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap to cover the upper half of his face.
