    The area was in an upscale neighborhood, with small ts surrounding the campus, while vimunities were located farther away. Kaiden took Ellie’s ss schedule into careful consideration when making the arrangements and chose arge, well-furnished bungalow, just a short walk from the university.


    The house was just under a hundred square meters, with only two bedrooms and a cozy living room.


    “What are youughing at?” Kaiden asked as he entered the house and found Ellie chuckling to herself. He closed the door behind him and slipped into slippers. “Well, Mr. Thorpe,” Ellie teased, “I can safely say you’ve never lived in a house this small in your life. Am I right?”


    Kaiden walked up to her and pinched her cheek. “Are youughing at me?”


    “Of course not,” Ellie replied, “I was just worried that you wouldn’t get used to staying here. After all… Ah!”


    Before she could finish, Kaiden scooped her up into his arms and set her down on top of the shoe cab. The air grew thick with tension, making her smile fade away.


    “As long as you’re with me,” he murmured into her ear, “I’m willing to stay anywhere.” It was a sweet remark, but it brought back memories of what he had done to her back at the alumni guesthouse.


    Ellie’s expression turned serious, and she pushed him away. “Let go of me. I want to see the rest of the house.”


    Kaiden kissed the corner of her mouth. He had nned to stop there and let her go, but lost all control and deepened the kiss.


    After a long while, they both pulled away, panting and gasping for air.


    Kaiden reluctantly pulled Ellie down from the shoe cab. “Go and look around,” he said between shallow breaths.


    Her face flushed as she looked up at him, and it took all of Kaiden’s willpower not to ravage her lips again. It didn’t help that she had that sullen look in her eyes, as though silently asking him why he had suddenly pulled away.

    “Baby, if you keep looking at me like that, you won’t get to see the rest of the house for at least a few hours.” Kaiden averted his gaze and let out a soft, painedugh. His words snapped Ellie back to reality. She squared her shoulders and red at him.


    Why was he trying to pin the me on her? She was just shocked that he hadn’t gone all the way—that’s all!


    Of course, Kaiden wanted to make love to her. In fact, he wanted to take her right there and then. But Ellie had just eaten lunch, and she was so delicate. If he pushed her and upset her stomach, he’d have to deal with her moodster that night.


    Kaiden had arranged for a servant toe by regrly to clean the house. All the furniture was new, having been changed just a couple of days ago. A fresh cotton and linen quilt covered the bed—Ellie’s favorite fabrics.


    In the kitchen, the fridge and the small pantry were well-stocked. The bowls, tes, cups, and slippers—all came in sets of two. Ellie ventured further into the kitchen. Sure enough, there were only two sets of cutlery as well.
