Chapter 724

    ?Chapter 724:

“Haha!” Ellieughed, looking directly at him. “I must say, Mr. Thorpe, this outfit makes you look at least five years younger than you do in those tight business suits.”

Kaiden snorted, her words a mild offense to him. He was six years older than Ellie.

He reached out and yfully massaged her nape. “Ellie, are you calling me old again?”

Ellie pouted and narrowed her eyes. She never said that.

Kaiden chuckled and nipped at her lips. “Well, even if I am old, that doesn’t change the fact that you are mine.”

As Ellie had said, the quality of Critport University’s singingpetition was indeed impressive. Many of the finalists specialized in vocal music, and most were vocal art majors. They were popr both on and off campus, which is why there was a ticketing system in ce.

Ellie and Kaiden arrived half an hour early, but the line outside the theater already stretched about a hundred meters long. Students without tickets loitered around, hoping for a miracle to get in. Unfortunately, student marshals were there to ensure everything was in order.

Ellie held Kaiden’s hand as they made their way to the end of the line.

“It’s a good thing the event is in the evening,” she said with relief. “No one will notice us. You’ve never experienced this when you were in university, have you?”

Kaiden frowned at the sight of the crowd. Truth be told, he wasn’t looking forward to the experience at all. But since Ellie wanted toe, he was more than happy to join her.

Ellie took out her phone, clicked on a preview tweet about thepetition, and then began discussing it with Kaiden in earnest.

He wasn’t interested in any of it, but he enjoyed listening to her talk. He also liked how she only had eyes for him.

Kaiden, being used to multitasking, had a sharp sense of everything going on around him at any given time. It didn’t take long for him to notice that many people were staring at him and Ellie.

He subtly angled his body sideways, effectively shielding her from prying eyes.

Naturally, his action did not go unnoticed by the gawkers.

A group of students squealed and tittered, their excitement filling the air. They quickly logged into the campus forum to discuss among themselves.

“Ahhh! That handsome guy over there! It’s Mr. Thorpe, right? Did he just block our view of Ellie?”

“Mr. Thorpe is annoying. Why won’t he share Ellie’s beautiful face with us? He must have known we were looking, or he wouldn’t have hidden her away.”

“Did Ellie really think no one would recognize her if she wore a mask?”

“It’s so funny. Look, I bet Mr. Thorpe won’t even tell her that we’ve figured it out.”

“My roommate is performing tonight, and he’s super nervous now that he knows Ellie is here. He’s afraid he’ll underperform on stage.”
