    “They’ve found her!” a servant excitedly dered, hurrying over.


    Susanna, barely conscious, was overwhelmed by a scorching sensation all over, her thoughts blurry. She felt someone undressing her. Her instinct was to fight back, but when her hand brushed against something warm, she involuntarily craved more. It was the touch of warm skin with masculine hair.


    Struggling to open her eyes, Susanna snapped to alertness for a moment when she caught sight of the man in front of her. Weak and trying to escape, she fell to the floor.


    “Erick! What… what’s happening? Where am I?” she hissed.


    Erick maintained a cold detachment as he said, “Miss Todd, don’t you remember? You followed me here.”


    Inwardly, Erick was unhappy that the drug wasn’t strong enough to keep her asleep.


    Susanna grabbed a nket to cover herself. Before she could gather her wits, Erick said, “Miss Todd, we’ve already been intimate. What are you covering for? I’ve seen it all.”


    Susanna sat there, shocked to her core. Tears quickly filled her eyes. She appeared utterly vulnerable and sad, sparking a wave of sympathy in anyone who saw her.


    “Miss Todd, please, don’t cry. I’ll look after you. I’m even ready to marry you,” Erick said, his voice gentle.


    He moved to dry her tears, but she panicked and moved back.


    When he reached for her, Susanna acted on impulse. She grabbed themp from the nightstand and swung it at Erick.


    But her attempt was weak. Erick caught her arm before she couldnd a hit.


    “Susanna, I offered to marry you out of kindness. After those intimate moments you shared with me, do you think Daniel would still marry you? Show some gratitude!” Erick furiously smashed the bedsidemp off the table with a forceful blow.


    “Bang!” The sound was deafening as themp crashed to the floor.

    “Damn you! You’ve slept with so many women. I find it disgusting! You can still get married, so why can’t I find someone to marry me?” Full of rage, Susanna yelled, “You worthless piece of trash, leave! I will not marry you!”


    Erick found himself at a loss for words. He was confused. What was going through her head? Did she not grasp the gravity of her situation?


    Suddenly, the door flew open with a forceful kick from the outside, causing it to m against the wall with a loud bang.


    “Susanna.”


    Daniel was the first to burst into the room. His mind went nk at the sight of Susanna on the floor. Driven by fury, he threw a punch at Erick. “Ouch. Holy crap!”


    Erick crashed onto the bed with such force that he bounced. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, leaving him in shock.


    Removing his jacket, Daniel wrapped it around Susanna and pulled her close. He tried to find words offort, but no sound came out. His throat felt as parched as a desert. His heart ached as though a hand had clenched it tightly.
