    The room fell silent briefly when Erick and his family arrived, but soon enough, everything went back to how it was. The Thorpe and Hill families were intertwined through business, which made the invitation to Erick’s family understandable.


    Ellie nced at Kaiden, who seemed indifferent to Erick and his family’s presence. She chose not to pay any more attention to them.


    “Look over there,” Genesis whispered to her son, nodding subtly in one direction.

    “After considering all the options, Susanna seems like the most suitable match for you,” Genesis exined.


    Erick eximed in disbelief, “Mom, are you crazy? Susanna is Daniel’s fiancée!”


    “We’ve checked. There’s no romantic rtionship between Susanna and Daniel at the moment. Susanna’s naive and easily swayed. Even if she marries someone else, the Lamberts will still have her back.” Genesis gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “If you can win over the Lambert family, you might stand a chance against Kaiden.”
