?Chapter 671:
It was at this point that it suddenly dawned on Ellie. So all of Katharine’s special treatment toward her was because of Susanna.
“You’re wee, Miss Lambert,” she replied politely. “Anyway, Susanna is my friend. It’s only natural that I do my best for her. By the way, on our way here, we had top-quality ck tea and red wine on the yacht…”
“You and Miss Curtis liked it, right?” Katharine interrupted eagerly before Ellie could finish expressing her gratitude.
“Yes, we did,” Ellie acknowledged. “Thank you very much for your kindness, Miss Lambert.”
Meanwhile, Baylee remained quiet, only joining the conversation when her name was mentioned.
Kaiden nced at Katharine, silently critiquing her with his eyes. Even though she behaved naturally, he noticed how intently she was watching Ellie’s face. Her kindness toward Ellie was so unusual that he found it suspicious. He actually suspected that Katharine was simply using Susanna as an excuse to get close to Ellie.
In line with protocol, most of the crew eventually left the ind, while the guests and the main members of the crew stayed behind to have lunch with Katharine.
“Katharine,” Carole called, forcing a smile as she came over to join them.
“Sorry, I didn’t have time to say hello to you earlier,” Katharine apologized, though she didn’t seem sorry at all. “It’s been some time since you returned. Have you gotten used to living in the country again?”
“Yes, I have,” Carole replied with a nod, adopting a humble demeanor. “It’s just that I miss you a little. Even though Daniel is also back in the country, he seems so busy that he doesn’t even have time to sit down and have lunch with me.” In truth, Carole had called Daniel several times, but he had politely refused each invitation to meet for lunch.
Listening to Carole, Katharine felt she was merely makingints. She cast her a brief nce but didn’t respond. Carole was stunned by the look Katharine gave her, and her smile froze instantly. She didn’t dare try any more tricks after that.

Ellie felt sick at the sight of Carole and quickly said to Katharine, “Miss Lambert, we’ll get going now. See youter.”
“Okay then,” Katharine acknowledged with a nod. But as Ellie left, she looked at her retreating figure thoughtfully.
To be sure, Ellie really did look like her grandmother. In fact, Ellie’s face in reality looked even more simr to her grandmother’s than her face in the photo.
But then, ording to Daniel’s investigation, it was impossible for Ellie to be the same person as Elsie.
At first, Katharine couldn’t help but suspect that Daniel was wrong, so she did her own investigation and still came up with the same result!
Nheless, she believed the most dependable course of action was to arrange for Ellie to undergo a paternity testter, after they departed the ind. With this thought in her mind, Katharine couldn’t help but look at Kaiden, who was walking right beside Ellie.
This man had good genes. If Ellie turned out to be her sister, then the heir to the Lambert family would not be forced to rely on a loser like Daniel, who couldn’t even deal with Susanna! And then, everything would be perfect!
