?Chapter 602:
“Ellie, you can’t do this to me! You’re pushing me to be your enemy!” Demi’s desperation became clear when pleading failed.
“As if doing you a favor this time would make you treat me any better,” Ellie scoffed, then turned to Litzy. “There are things I just don’t want anymore.”
The sports car zoomed into Moon Manor, leaving a trail of dust behind. Demi wiped away her tears, her eyes burning with deep, cold hatred. Even if Ellie were willing to help her out this time, Demi would do everything in her power to make Ellie’s life difficult. She believed Ellie owed her something.
Had their roles not been reversed from the start, Ellie would have been the one growing up in an orphanage, with no chance to learn any special skills. She would never have had the opportunity to marry Kaiden. Demi was determined not to let Ellie enjoy her life, especially if she couldn’t enjoy her own.
After pulling the car into the garage, Ellie sat quietly, her hands still gripping the steering wheel, lost in thought. Kaiden gently caressed her head, asking softly, “Feeling down?”
Ellie shook her head. “No, not really.”
To her, the entire situation was just ridiculously funny. It was funny how she had once bent over backward to win Litzy’s approval. And now, seeing Demi’s pitiful situation felt just asughable. Demi had a knack for squandering every good opportunity she got.
“By the way, the team from ‘Workce Diary’ said they’re switching our home visit to a live show tomorrow morning.” Ellie had only found out about this change today.
Kaiden simply nodded, signaling his understanding. The crew had nned it for nine in the morning, an hour after Kaiden usually headed to work by eight.
Back at the main house, Ellie told Cayson to give the staff a half-day off tomorrow morning so they wouldn’t be around in the main house. After dinner, Ellie was about to pack her bags when Kaiden stopped her, pressing her down onto the bed before she could even start.
“Ellie, I’ve been holding myself back since we were in thepany parking lot,” he said, leaning in close, his breath warm against her ear, his voice tight with restraint.

“But I need to pack my bags,” Ellie replied, trying to seem unbothered. Did she really think her bags were more important than him? Kaiden, clearly unhappy, muttered, “I’ll help you with packingter.” Ellie didn’t believe that for a second.
“I need to finish packing!” she insisted, pushing against him.
“Think about what you’re doing, Ellie,” Kaiden warned, his tone carrying an unspoken threat. He didn’t spell it out, but the message was clear. If she pushed him away now, he’de back at her even harderter.
“I need to pack first.” Ellie stood her ground, refusing to be swayed, as if giving in to him would make her problems go away.
Kaiden gave her a few intense kisses before he finally let her up.
The next day’s live broadcast was going to be a mixed format, with the production team dividing into several groups to visit guests’ homes and broadcasting live in turn. After the broadcast, she had to head to the event site with the team.
