    “Mrs. Thorpe, I was starting to think you’d forgotten you had a husband,” Kaiden teased, tracing his finger along the corner of her lips. It had been three days since hest saw Ellie.


    Ellie, ever the workaholic, seemed to lose herself in her work. She had spent thest few days in a hotel next to the studio, keeping to herself to avoid any distractions.


    And in her eyes, Kaiden had be a distraction.


    Ellie gave a nervousugh. “I was just trying to finish up everything with the drama team as quickly as I could.”


    With every new actor came the challenge of finding the right look and makeup that would suit their role and match the scene and costumes of the other characters. It was a lot of work.


    Kaiden gave a knowing hum, his voice hinting at something more.


    Ellie, feeling a twinge of guilt, gently pulled on his sleeve.


    “Kaiden, I never made a fuss about you helping Marvin with Baylee. You can’t use this against me.”


    Kaiden gave her a 100k look, as if asking, “Is this your way of saying you’re sorry?”


    Ellie didn’t believe she was in the wrong. If men could go after their careers, why couldn’t women do the same? She had no intention of changing.


    Yet… she thought she might still smooth things over with him. Leaning forward, she supported herself on the back of the chair andnded a quick kiss on the corner of his mouth, her eyes shining as she gazed at him.


    “Honey, are you still upset with me?” she whispered.


    The moment her lips touched his, Kaiden’s mood shifted. That small kiss, though far from enough, pierced through his annoyance. Her endearing call of “honey” sounded incredibly sweet,pletely catching him off guard.


    Kaiden lifted her by the waist, moving her directly to the passenger seat.

    “Hey!” Ellie eximed, surprised by the sudden movement.


    Before she knew it, she was sitting in hisp, enveloped in a deep kiss thatsted much longer than the first.


    It wasn’t until Ellie pressed firmly against his chest that the kiss broke. Kaiden hesitantly released her, his eyes filled with questions about her difort.


    Feeling her squirm, he wrapped his arms tighter around her waist, pulling her closer.


    “You… Let me go!”


    She feltpletely trapped in his hold, her hands only managing to rest against his chest. In such a hold, everything seemed so intense. Ellie froze, not daring to make a move.


    “Your ears are turning red, Ellie.”


    Kaiden’s voice was deep, filled with emotion and a hint of amusement at catching her off guard. “Aren’t you used to this by now? Hum?”
