Chapter 581

    ?Chapter 581:

Furious, Demi made her way there, only to find Erick surrounded by women, including a minor online celebrity she had previously shed with.

“What a surprise to see you here, Demi,” the celebrity said, cozying up to Erick.

“Go away!” Demi, fire in her eyes, snapped. “Erick is my fiancé. Don’t you have any respect?”

“And who ims to be your fiancé?” Erick retorted. He wanted nothing to do with Demi at that moment. How embarrassing!

The online celebrity mocked her, “Demi, everyone knows about your expulsion from Critport University, even if you tried to hide it. Do you think you’re good enough for Erick?”

“Is it me who’s not worthy, or is it you?” Demi shot back, feeling a surge of confidence.

Suddenly uneasy, Demi ced a hand on her stomach, remembering Ellie’s advice. She red at Erick. “Erick, it’s bad enough you’re flirting with others, but to go after Ellie behind my back… How could you? I’m pregnant with your child! We were supposed to get married!”

She knew about his visit to Ellie?

Erick was momentarily taken aback but quickly dismissed it.

“Having a child is one thing. Getting married ispletely different,” he said coldly. “Demi, do you honestly think that just because you’re having a child, you have the right to be Mrs. Thorpe? Have you lost your senses?”

“You… Erick… You’re the worst!” Demi’s anger boiled over, and she almost copsed from the emotional weight.

“If I weren’t the worst, would I have cheated on Ellie to be with you?” Erick admitted, his voice filled with frustration. “I was foolish! Ellie… It’s always about Ellie!”

What was so special about that woman with the mysterious background?

Tears streaming down her face, Demi stormed out, her heart breaking.

As she was going down the stairs, Demi slipped and fell. A wave of fear washed over her in that moment. Ignoring the pain, her first instinct was to check on her belly. This baby was herst hope!

Although she felt no immediate pain, she wanted to be sure and quickly got up to catch a taxi to the nearest private hospital.

“Ma’am, you’re not pregnant,” the doctor remarked, clutching the report with an awkward expression. “What do you mean? I clearly was…”

“Listen, your progesterone levels are too low for you to be pregnant. Look at this ultrasound. There’s no embryo in your uterus,” the doctor rified. “Where did you get your earlier diagnosis that led to this mistaken belief?”

Feeling overwhelmed, Demi left the diagnostic room and quickly called Litzy.

“Where are you, Demi? The olddy passed away. We need to get to the funeral home fast,” Litzy said, sounding detached. She didn’t care much for Cecelia, but now, they had to show up to make everyone believe that they were a harmonious family. After all, skipping a funeral would draw negative attention.

Demi, overwhelmed by her own news, started crying.
