Chapter 580

    ?Chapter 580:

Once all the formalities were taken care of, Houston looked around for Ellie but couldn’t find her. He stopped a nurse to ask if she had seen her.

The nurse replied, “She just left after paying the medical bills. She left with her husband about half an hour ago.”

Houston let out a deep sigh, his hand forming a tight fist, filled with regret. He wished he had known Kaiden was there too. He would have arrived sooner.

In the car, Ellie stared out the window, her eyes red and puffy from tears. She sat motionless, as though drained of life. Her sorrow was clear, but Kaiden felt at a loss for how tofort her.

When they pulled up to Moon Manor, Kaiden signaled for the driver to continue on without them. He then wrapped his arms around Ellie, lifting her onto hisp.

Ellie, stirred from her daze by his touch, asked, “Are we here?”

Kaiden replied, “Yes, we’re back home now.”

Holding her close, he softly said, “Don’t you want to say goodbye to your grandma?”

He was surprised she had left the ward without seeing Cecelia onest time.

Ellie shook her head, saying, “Grandma might not have wanted to see me.”

Then, suddenly, she turned to him, hugging him tightly and burying her face in the crook of his neck. Her deep sorrow and sense of loss were palpable to him, even without her saying a word.

“Honey, are you feeling sad?” he asked, gently rubbing her back to offer some sce.

Kaiden felt out of his depth, trying to console a heartbroken woman, his actions awkward. He sensed that Ellie and Cecelia’s conversation had been about something distressing.

“Kaiden…” Her voice shook as she fought back tears.

    He responded, “I’m right here.”

Struggling for words, she said, “They… They never loved me. Not at all!” Houston and Litzy had always favored sons over daughters and held a disregard for her, unaware that she wasn’t their biological child.

Cecelia’s affection for her had always been driven by her own interests.

Kaiden wasn’t entirely sure who Ellie meant, but he didn’t press her for details.

Gently, he cupped her face, kissing away her tears. “None of that matters,” he murmured, gazing into her eyes. “My love for you is all that counts. I love you, Ellie.”

Her tears blurred her vision, but she managed to fix her gaze on him, as though hoping he would repeat those words. She appeared as vulnerable as a lost kitten, and in that moment, he could almost read her thoughts.

He had felt trapped in a deep, dark pit these past few years, and she was like a beam of light reaching through the gloom.

With a resigned sigh, Kaiden repeated with patience, “I love you, Ellie. I love you. Do you hear me?”

As soon as Demi left the hospital, she quickly called Erick. Impatient, he simply sent her the location of a popr club in Critport and said nothing more.
