Chapter 508

    ?Chapter 508:

As long as the goal was achieved, the process was not important.

    Kaiden didn’t respond.

Ellie could feel his anger radiating through the phone.

She couldn’t understand why Kaiden didn’t want a divorce. He hadn’t married her out of love.

“Did you send the milk tea to the convenience store?” Ellie asked, even though she was certain that it was Kaiden. “It has gone bad. Some things don’tst long.”

“Are you sure you want a divorce?” Baylee asked, moments after Ellie had hung up the phone.

Ellie nodded, a sense of resolve in her eyes. “This is the best way I can think of to cut my losses,” she said.

The taste of unrequited love was too bitter, too exhausting for her. From the moment she fell for Kaiden, Ellie realized she could not endure the continuation of their loveless marriage.

Now, realizing Kaiden couldn’t offer her the love she yearned for, she decided to let go.

Kaiden, on the other hand, refused to ept Ellie’s decision.

He believed whatever was broken could be mended, even if it meant starting from scratch.

Driven by a stubborn hope, Kaiden returned to the milk tea shop, buying the same drink he had purchased the day before. Then he went to find Ellie.

“Why are you here again?” the dormitory manager asked with a frown. “No matter how many times youe, I won’t let you in!”

Without a word, Kaiden pulled out a marriage certificate from his coat and handed it to the manager. The document bore two names: Kaiden Thorpe and Ellie Gordon.

“Ellie is your wife? She’s married?” The manager’s eyes widened in disbelief, scrutinizing the certificate over and over. “This marriage certificate isn’t fake, is it? You know it’s illegal to forge such documents!”

Kaiden remained silent, offering no exnation.

Skeptical yet unable to prove the document was fake, the manager handed back the certificate, his demeanor softening. “What’s going on? Did you two have a fight?”

Kaiden’s lips tightened; he was not about to admit anything.

“You should make things right with your wife. But even if you are her husband, I can’t let you go upstairs,” the manager said, taking the milk tea from Kaiden’s grasp. “I’ll bring this up to her for you.”

As the manager spoke, a tall man entered the lobby.

“Who are you looking for?” he asked the neer.

Marvin, with his understated elegance, was well aware of the establishment’s protocols. “I’m here to see Baylee in Room 302,” he stated calmly.

“Do you have your marriage certificate with you?” the manager asked jokingly, still holding the milk tea in one hand while extending the other.
