Chapter 507

    ?Chapter 507:

As soon as Kaiden walked out of the ward, Carole rushed to him in tears. “I’m sorry, Kaiden. I didn’t mean to bring you so much trouble. I’m sorry!”

She hadn’t slept all night. Ever since he posted on Twitter, it had been hell for her.

She had be theughing stock of the city. Everyone was talking about her like she was a clown!

More importantly, she had unwittingly pushed Kaiden to announce his marriage!

“Take her away!” Kaiden ordered his men and turned away to avoid contact with Carole.

    “Kaiden! Kaiden, please!” she cried.

She wanted to chase him, but his bodyguards restrained her.

Outside, Bruce started the car. “Mr. Thorpe, shall we go to the office?”

    “Take me to Critport University.”

“Well… Okay,” Bruce said reluctantly. He silently prayed for Kaiden to go to work.

Leaning against the back of the seat, Kaiden closed his eyes for some rest, asking, “Have you checked the medicine?”

Bruce replied, “Yes, sir. I’ve checked it; there is no problem with the medicine under your mother’s pillow. I heard that Carole bought some vitamin pills that resembled the shape of your mother’s medicine, but the bottle of vitamins was not opened. I don’t think she has tampered with your mother’s medicine.”

Back at the hospital, Carole took out an opened bottle of vitamins that she had hidden when Kaiden was there.

After Brisa got sick, one of Jorge’s confidants gave her an unopened bottle of vitamins, saying, “Miss Lambert, you owe Mr. Thorpe big time.”

    Kaiden dialed Ellie’s number.

This time, the phone connected quickly. He breathed a sigh of relief.

Dive into tales at gα? ησ ν?? ??s,

“Kaiden, are you calling me because you are ready to divorce me?” came Ellie’s voice through the phone. Her tone was brusque, as if she was pushing him away from her. Kaiden was stunned for two seconds.

    She still wanted a divorce?

    “Have you seen…” he began.

“The post on Twitter? I saw it,” Ellie cut in.

Staring at her toes, she exined, “But Kaiden, it’s not because of the rumor about you and Carole that I want to divorce you. If it’s not Carole, there will be another woman. People will continue to gossip.” The gossip was just a trigger.

Her real reason for the divorce wouldn’t change even if the rumors stopped.

“This sort of gossip will never happen again,” Kaiden promised solemnly.

In other words, he was refusing the divorce.

“Look, if you don’t want people to know that I asked for a divorce, you can initiate it,” Ellie offered, aware that he might feel humiliated by being asked for a divorce, and attempted to help him maintain his dignity.
