?Chapter 464:
As a supportive friend, she chose not to pry into Baylee’s personal affairs.
“But…” Pondering Marvin’s actions, Ellie posed a question. “Is he really alright mentally?”
His reactions, especially when Quincy was mentioned, seemed too lucid for someone who was not in his right mind.
Yet, if he were well, he wouldn’t have acquiesced to Baylee so readily.
“I’m not certain,” Baylee admitted. “This isn’t the first time he’s kissed me like that.”
Ellie was taken aback. This was indeed a big revtion.
Baylee, visibly frustrated, continued, “I assumed his actions were due to his mental state, so I didn’t confront him, but…”
“But what?” Ellie sensed there was more.
“The other day, he walked in on me showering, and well… he got a boner.”
“Marvin… he got a boner?!” Ellie stopped short and turned to look at Baylee, utterly dumbfounded. “It seems unusual that he kissed you like that. No, actually, think about it. Have you ever heard of a mentally challenged person just randomly kissing someone?”
Baylee quickly locked the door behind them. Now that Ellie mentioned it, she realized just how gullible she had been.
She had always considered Marvin as her savior. After his so-called breakdown and subsequent show of weakness, she had foolishly lowered her guard around him.
“Do you think Marvin… Do you think he fancies you?” Ellie voiced out her spections.
“Do you think Mr. Hill is capable of such emotions?” Baylee countered.
Ellie fell silent at that.
The family dynamics of the Hills were just as intricate as those of the Thorpes, with Marvin possibly being in an even tougher spot than Kaiden.
The current patriarch of the Hill family was Marvin’s grandfather, Shelton Hill.
Shelton had three wives and numerous children with each, leading to even more offspring in the generations that followed. One of his grandchildren was Quincy.

The grandchildren had always vied for Shelton’s attention even as kids, and now, thepetition was even more fierce with the family wealth and business on the line.
It wasn’t just the grandchildren, though—even members of the extended family were also trying to secure their ces in the power struggle.
Marvin’s parents had died early, a misfortune that left him in a very vulnerable position. He grew up in istion, pletely ignored by Shelton, and practically nonexistent to the rest of the Hill family. That was, until he became an adult.
Using his unbearably good looks, he employed devious tactics to wheedle his way to the center of the family, eventually earning everyone’s fear.
After his unexpected rise in power, many of his rtives tried to curry favor with him by offering him both women and men.
But Marvin remained unmoved by their efforts. He was focused solely on obtaining absolute power and eliminating his enemies. He wasn’t interested in romance. Or so everyone thought. After all, how could someone so ruthless have the space for such things?
“Marvin’s connection with the Rollins family runs deep,” Baylee said. “I don’t want anything to do with them, nor do I want to get involved in the Hill family’s internal feuds. I’ll persuade Marcelo to take him away once and for all. Can I stay with you for a few days, just until Marvin is gone?”
