?Chapter 463:
The sound shattered the night’s quiet.
With that, the man’s head was tilted to the side.
Ellie recognized him — it was Marvin!
Marvin, here in the dead of night, kissed Baylee against her will?
Torn between leaving them or staying to help Baylee, Ellie hesitated.
Baylee, sensing someone there, looked over.
“Ellie…”
Baylee’s expression was a mix of confusion and vulnerability. Marvin, turning to face Ellie, had a dark look in his eyes, still burning with desire. His nce at Ellie, the intruder, carried a hint of hostility. Ellie stepped forward.
“Baylee, you weren’t in the living room, and your phone was on the sofa. I got worried and came looking.”
Marvin reacted by tightening his hold on Baylee, almost as if to assert his im.
Baylee, struggling, pushed against him but was drawn in even closer. “Marvin, release me now!”
“Mr. Hill, please understand that sexual harassment is a crime,” Ellie said firmly, standing before them. “You need to let Baylee go.”
Marvin’s eyes narrowed.
“I recently ran into Mr. Rollins. If you don’t release her, I will call him immediately,” Ellie dered.
“Do you think Quincy can intimidate me?” Marvin replied nonchntly.
Ellie shook her head. “It’s not about intimidation. But if Baylee is troubled, I’ll ensure you face the consequences.”
Baylee, with effort, managed to loosen Marvin’s grip.
Though healthier now, Baylee’s childhood frailty still made her appear delicate, and it seemed wrong to use force against her.
She hissed, “Marvin, are you in your right mind? If so, please leave. If not, I’ll have Marceloe for you.”
Marvin’s gaze lingered on Baylee, wordless, seemingly using her of abandoning him tonight.
His behavior had been erratic over the past month, often disying a sense of grievance towards Baylee as if she were the one who put him in that situation.
It was hard to reconcile this side of Marvin with the decisive, ruthless heir of the Hill family. He seemed more like a dejected wolfhound.
“Baylee, are you avoiding me?” Marvin inquired.
“Marvin, please go home.”
“We really should suggest the university secure the dormitory area gates,” Ellie remarked as she walked back with Baylee. “Leaving them open at night could invite unwanted intruders.”
Baylee had already messaged Marcelo to fetch Marvin. His behavior was his own responsibility.
“Ellie, won’t you ask about Marvin and me?”
“If you feel like sharing, you will,” Ellie replied.
