Chapter 388

    ?Chapter 388:

After witnessing Kaiden and Ellie’s tense interaction, Omiros quietly inquired, “Cayson, what’s going on with Kaiden and Ellie?”

Cayson shook his head, his expression clearly conveying they had an argument.

Omiros was baffled. “But Ellie is so patient. It must have been Kaiden who started the fight.”

Driven by curiosity, Omiros approached the study on the second floor and knocked.

The door swung open, unlocked remotely from within.

Upon entering, he was met with a frosty stare from Kaiden, seated behind his yellow rosewood desk. The look suggested Omiros was an unwee intrusion.

Kaiden had probably expected Ellie, not Omiros, which exined why the door had been opened.

“Kaiden, it’s not fair to disce your anger onto me, your dear cousin, just because you and Ellie had a disagreement,” Omiros said, undeterred, as he settled onto the sofa.

Kaiden’s response was blunt and emotionless. “I don’t think I have a cousin as stupid as you.”

Omiros, trying to defend himself, said, “Stupid? My scores have been showing significant improvement!” But Kaiden’s disdain only deepened.

Omiros’ so-called improvement was actually transitioning from failing the exams to barely passing them.

Ready to depart, Omiros pped his hands. “Well, I guess I should inform my parents about their genius nephew’s rocky marriage and the uncertain future of their grandson… Hey! Watch it! You almost hit me!”

Kaiden, frustrated, tossed a pen at Omiros. “Omiros, have you lost your mind?”

Omiros, knowing full well he was provoking Kaiden, retorted, “If you’re so bothered, why don’t you go and make amends with her?”

Their argument put Omiros in a difficult spot, making it ufortable for him to engage with Ellie.

Kaiden let out a cold, dismissive, “No way.” Him? Make amends with her?

Omiros had seen iting that Kaiden would not entertain the idea of him making amends with someone else. So, he started to tease, “Of course, how could Mr. Thorpe ever apologize to anyone? But there’s no need to worry; Ellie is so remarkable, plenty are eager to indulge her. Your apology isn’t necessary!”

    Bang!

Suddenly, a file was thrown in Omiros’ direction.

Omiros narrowly avoided it, catching Kaiden’s stern look.

“I’ve said my piece, so I’m leaving!” Omiros hurried out, keen to avoid further upsetting Kaiden.

Besides, he had his own concerns; his studies were a lot to handle. He was swamped!

Meanwhile, Ellie was in bed, restless.

That afternoon in the car, she had taken pleasure in riling Kaiden up. Yet, their argument did nothing to resolve the issue at hand.

Her mind then wandered to Cecelia’s situation.

Cecelia had lured her back under the guise of celebrating her birthday, using her birthday wish to coerce her into helping Demi. Thisplication was far from resolved.
