    “Mr. Thorpe, are you seriously going to stop me from contacting my ssmate now?” Whenever Ellie was angry, she knew how to get under his skin. “I don’t bat an eysh when you go out and drink with Carole, or send her flowers, or offer her your clothes. So, what does my business have to do with you?”


    What ‘business’ did they have with each other? He was her husband, for crying out loud!


    Kaiden was now sure that Ellie had seen him at the bar the other day. She had seen him, but again she had pretended not to know him. But why? Was he so unworthy in her eyes? Or was it not worth her time to spare a moment to say hello to him?


    “Do you really think that the matter between you and Howard is the same as the matter between me and Carole?” he hissed.


    It was obvious that Howard had been coveting Ellie for many years! And he was much smarter than Edwin!


    “Oh, of course not, Mr. Thorpe! Those are two very different matters!” Ellie answered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She and Howard were schoolmates, whereas Carole and Kaiden had grown up together. How could they be the same? Of course, they were different!


    “Stop being so sarcastic with me, Ellie.” Kaiden pinched her chin and forced her to look up at him.


    Then he brought his face close to hers.


    “Fine, I’ll stop being sarcastic.” Ellie sneered, “Next time, I’ll tell Howard to pick me up with flowers. I’ll go to the bar with my male ssmates. I’ll wear Howard’s jacket and… Eh!” Kaiden was so pissed that he kissed her!


    Every word that left her lips just now seemed to prick his heart. Finally, he couldn’t stop himself and leaned in to silence her with his own lips.


    “Kaiden, let go of me!”


    Ellie tried her best to push him, but he overpowered her, pressing her firmly against the back of the seat.


    After what felt like an eternity, Kaiden finally released her.

    “You’re going to do all those things? Fine, go ahead! Ellie, I dare you!” Kaiden held her firmly by the back of her neck, his voice threatening, but his eyes showed a hint of flirtation.


    Just hearing what she said made Kaiden want to throw that Lee brat abroad.


    “Are you angry at me?” Ellie asked in a low voice.


    Without hesitation, she seized her chance to shove Kaiden back to the passenger seat. “I’m the one who should be angry,” she sneered.


    How dare he get angry with her?


    She was just spouting nonsense, whereas she had actually seen him doing these things with Carole.


    Smart as he was, Kaiden understood what she meant. His expression darkened.


    However, what had urred between him and Carole was different from what Ellie had assumed.


    Last week, Omiros excelled in his examination, earning a half-day off. He decided to spend it visiting the main building, only to be met with a heavy, uneasy atmosphere. This almost made him regret not staying in the side building.
