Chapter 381

    ?Chapter 381:

The situation didn’t really allow for any negotiation. The school had only called Ellie because the Gordon family kept mentioning her. Ellie had left a positive mark on the school and was a respected former student. The school, mindful of her reputation, wanted to let her know about the current situation.

“Ellie, you lived a fulfilling life as a Gordon in my ce for over twenty years. You can’t be this heartless!” Demi attempted to grasp Ellie’s wrist, but Ellie easily dodged her.

“You used my achievements to get into Critport University. You passed off my awards as your own. That was deceitful from the start! And once there, instead of working hard, you chose dishonesty. Today’s consequences are of your own making!” Ellie hissed.

Demi got into the school as a talented student, but she had used fake versions of Ellie’s certificates. The Gordons had also made a hefty donation to secure her admission.

“You just don’t want to help me! Ellie, you’re just jealous of my sess!” Demi was stuck in her own delusion. “Have you even thought about what this will do to grandma?”

Ellie’s face became somber. “I’ll talk to grandma myself. You don’t need to worry about that.”

The staff in the office were shocked by Demi’s audacity, using an elderly family member to manipte Ellie.

“A student like you can’t bepared to Ellie. How could Ellie be jealous of you?” a teacher said, almost in disbelief, as if to say, “Are you out of your mind?”

“Alright, this is resolved. Let’s go.” Andrew Gates, Ellie’s supervisor, realizing Ellie didn’t want to continue the interaction with Demi, escorted her out.

Once they were outside, Ellie expressed her gratitude to Andrew again.

“Don’t mention it. It’s no big deal. We wouldn’t have known about your connection to the Gordon family if they hadn’te forward…” Andrew sighed and gave Ellie aforting pat on the shoulder. “Focus on your own path, don’t let them get to you!”

Discovering she was adopted as an adult and then being emotionally manipted by her adoptive parents and sister was incredibly harsh for Ellie. It wasn’t her fault she was switched at birth!

“Seems like someone’s here to see you.” Andrew casually pointed in a certain direction.

Ellie noticed Howard at the end of the hallway.

Howard, teetering between his teenage years and adulthood, seemed slightly winded, as if he had run the whole way. His eyes, bright with excitement, were fixed on her.

With most students in ss, the campus cafe was fairly empty.

“Here’s your half-sweet milk tea, Ellie. I didn’t get you a cold one since it’s not good to drink too many of those. This one’s warm.” Howard set the drink down in front of Ellie.

“Thank you.” Ellie took a gentle sip of the milk tea, then inquired, “The post on the forum… That was your doing, right?”

Howard looked surprised for a moment. “How did you figure it out?”

“The student council manages the school forum, and any trending topics are checked by you. My supervisor mentioned that the post was very detailed, almost like legal evidence.” Ellie smiled and gave him a thumbs-up. “Howard, you could be a greatwyer someday!”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause you any trouble.” Howard felt guilty. He had intended for Demi to face the consequences of her actions but didn’t expect the Gordons to shamelessly drag Ellie into their mess.

“It’s fine.” Ellie didn’t seem troubled. “But won’t this put you in a bad spot? If the Gordons realize you were behind this, they might target you.”
