Chapter 382

    ?Chapter 382:

“No, they won’t dare.” Howard was confident as he shook his head. “You see, my family… they’re quite influential. Houston wouldn’t risk upsetting me.”

Ellie couldn’t help but burst outughing. “Ha ha!”

This caught Howard off guard. “Ellie, what’s so funny?”

“It’s just that I find you unexpectedly… adorable.” It was a surprise to see this usuallyposed and promising student council president, renowned for his seriousness, making such a statement.

For Ellie, it was the first time she had genuinely smiled that day.

Looking at Howard’s clothes and the quality of his belongings, Ellie guessed his family must be even more influential than the Gordons, albeit more discreet about it.

Howard, blushing, looked at Ellie for a moment before retorting, “Come on, I’m actually twenty-two.”

Ellie caught his implication. “Being adorable isn’t just for children! Alright, I won’t call you adorable again.”

Howard felt unusually embarrassed, particrly because Ellie was the one calling him adorable. He was puzzled as to why she would think so; everyone else always considered him mature andposed. But he figured that being called adorable wasn’t so bad.

While Ellie was still smiling, she suddenly sensed an intense stare.

Turning her head, she saw a ck Maybach parked outside the window. The car window lowered to reveal the strikingly handsome face of the man in the back seat.

Excited murmurs from other girls in the cafe reached Ellie’s ears.

“Look at that guy, he’s so good-looking!”

“Yes, handsome for sure, but there’s something intimidating about his eyes!”

“He seems to be staring at our cafe. I wonder who he’s watching?”

“Kaiden…” The name slipped from Ellie’s lips without her even realizing.

    What was he doing here?

Howard noticed where Ellie was looking and saw Kaiden, furrowing his brows slightly.

“Ellie, did hee here for you?”

“I’m not sure,” Ellie answered, averting her eyes.

She genuinely didn’t know. Shouldn’t he be with Carole at this time?

Or maybe Carole was in the car with him?

Kaiden had been informed by one of his people that Ellie was at the school. Watching her sitting there, ughing with Howard, he felt a surge of unexined anger.

When Ellie looked at him and then calmly looked away, as if she didn’t even recognize him, he felt a pang of annoyance.

She chatted with Howard, but pretended she didn’t know him?

    “Wee, can I help—”

The waiter’s voice was cut off by the sound of approaching wheels. Ellie nced down and first saw the wheelchair, then the stoic face of the man in it.

“Why didn’t youe to find me when you got to thepany?” Kaiden’s expressionless face seemed intimidating.

Ellie struggled to follow his train of thought.
