Chapter 377

    ?Chapter 377:

Ellie’s schedule had been packedtely. She left early and returnedte, barely crossing paths with Kaiden, and had almost forgotten theirck ofmunication.

She hadn’t expected to receive a direct offer from the GT Group, especially for the position of chief stylist.

    “Sorry, I haven’t decided yet…”

Ellie began, but the liaison interrupted with an uneasy expression.

“Miss Gordon, this offeres from the top,” he gestured upwards, indicating the president’s office.

“Take the offer for now. If you have reservations, you can discuss them directly with the president. It’s more straightforward that way.”

After a moment’s consideration, Ellie agreed, not wanting to cause difficulties.

“Is he avable today?” she inquired, referring to Kaiden.

The liaison confirmed with a nod.

Checking her watch, Ellie noted it was only four o’clock. She decided to wait until after five to meet Kaiden.

The liaison understood and conveyed her decision to the secretary.

At five, Ellie ascended to the thirty-eighth floor.

Stepping out of the elevator, she was surprised to see Carole seated in the reception area.

“Miss Gordon, what a coincidence,” Carole greeted with a smile. “I’ve seen your photos but haven’t met you in person. You are Ellie Gordon, aren’t you?”

“Yes, Miss Lambert,” Ellie responded politely, though she had no desire to engage with Carole.

It struck Ellie as a peculiar coincidence. She rarely visited Kaiden at the GT Group, yet today, when she had something to discuss with him, she encountered Carole.

“Miss Gordon, you recognize me?” Carole’s face lit up. “Did Kaiden mention me? Show you my picture?”

    “Kaiden?” Ellie echoed, puzzled.

“Ah, that’s my nickname for Kaiden from when we were kids.”

“Oh.” Ellie’s response was cool. “No, he hasn’t mentioned you or shown me any pictures.”

Carole’s smile faltered briefly, her eyes catching Ellie’s nce at therge paper bag beside her. Inside was a ck jacket.

“I’m returning Kaiden’s jacket; I borrowed it once. I didn’t expect to run into you here.” Carole then queried, “And you, Miss Gordon, why are you here?”

Her words, seemingly innocent, implied a certain familiarity with Kaiden, almost as if she were Mrs. Thorpe.

“I need to discuss something with Mr. Thorpe,” Ellie replied.

Just then, Zoey appeared, heels clicking.

“Miss Lambert, Mr. Thorpe will see you now. Miss Gordon, when did you arrive?”

Zoey’s eyes widened in surprise upon seeing Ellie, then darted to Carole, betraying the oddity of their simultaneous presence.

    “I just arrived,” Ellie replied.

Seeing Carole about to meet Kaiden, Ellie decided against going in. She anticipated the tension that would arise from her presence and worried it might provoke Carole into an outburst, leading to an awkward situation for everyone.
