?Chapter 376:
Kaiden had developed a knack for skillfully bypassing early morning meetings for Ellie’s sake. Such behavior had likely be familiar to the senior executives at GT Group.
Kaiden sensed Ellie’s mood shift; she seemed slightly disheartened. He had noticed her altered demeanor towards him. Kaiden, with a hint of frustration, pressed the tip of his tongue against the back of his teeth.
“Are you heading out for work tonight?” Leaning against the dressing room doorway, Kaiden inquiredzily.
“Yes, I need to visit yourpany for the Light show preparations next week,” Ellie responded, picking out clothes before closing the dressing room door, obscuring Kaiden’s view.
Emerging, she was met with his teasing smile. “It’s not like I haven’t seen you before.”
Despite her attempt at normalcy, Ellie felt a tug on her wrist as she turned to leave. Kaiden’s expression had changed.
“What’s going on, Ellie?” he asked, his gaze searching.
“What do you mean? I lost you.” Ellie feigned ignorance.
Kaiden raised his eyebrows, knowing she was ying dumb. He wasn’t willing to ept such a dismissive answer.
Kaiden closed the distance, pressing her against the closet. He gently held her chin, pelling her to meet his eyes.
Facing Kaiden’s gaze made it difficult for Ellie to fabricate a lie.
“What’s wrong?” Kaiden’s voice was soft, even kind.
“If someone’s troubling you, you need to tell me, Mrs. Thorpe.”
Tell him? How could she tell him if he was the one troubling her?
Ellie didn’t want another futile argument with Kaiden over Carole, so she chose her words carefully. Her voice quivered slightly.
“Kaiden, I’d rather not discuss it right now. Please, let me process this on my own.”

“Are you facing issues at the Gordons’?” Kaiden inquired.
“No,” Ellie replied, restraining her frustration as she met his gaze. “I can handle the Gordons’ problems myself.”
“Then why?” Kaiden probed further.
Ellie fell silent. She had already expressed her need for space to think. Kaiden studied her, his eyes filled with concern.
Did her reluctance to share mean ack of trust in him? Couldn’t she trust him? After all, he was her husband, so why couldn’t she trust him?
After a moment, Kaiden set aside his unease, gently smoothing her hair.
“Okay,” he conceded, granting her the time she requested.
Ellie was deeply involved in reinvigorating the top private high-end brand Light, which had stagnated in recent years. Her task was to inject fresh life into the brand, creating a new, eye-catching identity. For the next several days, Ellie was at the GT Group, liaising with Light’s team. She coborated with show directors, costume designers, and choreographers, overseeing every detail for the uing makeup, styling, and show. Her schedule was packed.
“Miss Gordon, you’ve received an invitation from Harvillston.” As the initial phase of the project nearedpletion, the GT Group’s liaison approached her.
