Chapter 255

    ?Chapter 255:

    “I’m fine,” Ellie replied.

Kaiden emerged in a wheelchair, his lips subtly different in color, appearing notably flushed.

As an adult with varied experiences, Edwin immediately understood the situation. He felt a mix of embarrassment and shock.

    Had Kaiden genuinely kissed Ellie?

When the wheelchair came to a halt beside Ellie, Edwin instantly sensed the peculiar atmosphere between them.

“Um, Kaiden, should we head there now?” Edwin asked, perplexed, briefly wondering if Kaiden had a specific reason for bringing him along to search for Ellie.

“Sorry, Edwin. I’m not feeling well. I’d like to head home,” Ellie responded. She felt it wasn’t appropriate to stay at the party in her current state. The gift had been delivered, and the greetings exchanged, so leaving wouldn’t seem impolite.

    “What about Kaiden?” Edwin inquired.

“We’ll head back. Please apologize to your mother on our behalf,” Ellie replied.

“Alright, I’ll escort you out.” Edwin nodded.

With that, Ellie and Kaiden exited through the side door.

As Edwin watched the two leave, his eyes suddenly froze. The hairpin he had gifted Ellie was no longer in ce.

On the journey back to Moon Manor, Bruce noticed something was off with Ellie.

“Mrs. Thorpe, are you feeling upset?” he asked.

Ellie caught a glimpse of her reflection in the car window and realized her expression wasn’t asposed as she had thought. “I’m just a bit tired,” Ellie responded, staring out of the window.

Bruce nced at the rearview mirror again, noticing the noticeable distance between the couple in the back seat. Was it just fatigue?

    ???????? ?????????????? ???? ??????????????????.??????

Upon arrival, Ellie headed straight to her room, avoiding any conversation. True to her etiquette-conscious nature, she merely nodded in response to Cayson’s greeting.

“Mr. Thorpe, did you have a disagreement with her?” Cayson asked in a hushed tone.

Kaiden pressed his lips together, offering no response.

Cayson understood. They had indeed had an argument.

After washing her face and brushing her teeth, Elliey on the bed. She hoped to fall asleep quickly, thinking that if she could, she wouldn’t dwell on things too much. But sleep eluded her.

Kaiden refrained from returning to their room. Through the French window of the master bedroom, Ellie glimpsed the illuminated study. After some time, she found herself unable to sleep and decided to go out for a walk.

    “Where are you headed?”

As Ellie reached the staircase, the study door swung open.
