    “Stop it, Kaiden!” Ellie was both irate and groggy.


    She closed her eyes after yelling, determined to sleep.


    “You’re still sleepy, Ellie?” Kaiden mused, incredulous at her determination to rest.


    In this instance, Kaiden took a direct approach, gently grasping Ellie’s hands. He leaned forward, tenderly patting her face with his other hand.

    His touch was soft, almost affectionate, yet forceful enough to rouse her from slumber. “Ellie.”


    “Kaiden, you’re really getting on my nerves.”


    Irritability had taken hold of Ellie that morning. Sitting up abruptly, she shot Kaiden an angry re.


    Unbeknownst to her, her cheeks flushed a delicate pink upon awakening, and her eyes sparkled enchantingly, even in her annoyance. “Mrs. Thorpe, where is my present?”


    She was incredulous. He had disturbed her sleep, and now he demanded a gift?

    “You’re in for a lesson, Ellie,” Kaiden remarked. She had prepared a present for Theo but neglected to consider one for him?


    The thought increasingly infuriated Kaiden. Ellie, sensing his grip on her hand, quickly came back to reality.


    Instinctively, she protested, “Kaiden, my hand is hurting!”


    Kaiden then drew her towards the bed’s center. She had inadvertently rolled to the edge earlier.


    “What are you thinking about, Ellie?” Kaiden arched an eyebrow subtly. Flustered, Ellie stammered a defensive exnation, “I’m overthinking because you’re too sexually active. It’s not my fault.” His sneer wasced with scorn.


    “I’ll give you a week to prepare the gift for me.” With that, Kaiden returned to bed.


    Ellie, watching his back, felt perplexed. Why had he suddenly demanded a gift? Couldn’t he simply buy whatever he needed himself?


    Upon her arrival at GT Group, Ellie discovered that MOON Jewelry’s spokesperson had changed from Demi to Essence.
