?Chapter 136:
“No.” Theo sighed. “Ellie gave me a gift…”
“She did? Show me!” Edwin perked up.
Theo eyed Edwin warily. “Why the sudden interest?”
Edwin reclined again and casually remarked, “I’m just curious about what kind of gift Ellie would give you.”
“It’s a tie she designed, with my surname as the pattern.”
Edwin straightened up and asked, “Theo, could I swap the sports car I gotst month for it?”
At the mention of the car, Theo’s anger red. “Absolutely not!”
“Kaiden’s got my tie. There’s no point in talking!” Theo hissed. And he missed out on Kaiden’s car too! The regret was eating him up.
Edwin, exasperated, fell back onto the sofa. “Will you just finish what you’re saying? Why do you keep stopping?”
Under his breath, he wondered, “Is Kaiden still with Ellie?”
As Edwin headed upstairs, Araceli quietly asked Theo, “Does Edwin not know Kaiden married Ellie?”
“It’s likely he’s clueless, considering he didn’t even make it into an Ivy League college. Let’s see when he figures it out,” Theo responded. “Don’t you think Edwin has a soft spot for Ellie?” Araceli murmured, then fell silent.
“Well, he’ll just have to deal with it. She’s Kaiden’s wife now. He’lle to terms eventually.”
Araceli looked towards Edwin’s room, her expression one of pity. He’d always been the family’s target for teasing, the poor thing! But, they reasoned, he was the only one they could tease. They decided to make the most of it.
Ellie’s life revolved around fashion design after Cecelia was released from the hospital and returned to the Gordon family.

It was eleven at night when she wrapped up her discussion with the GT Group. Kaiden hadn’te home. After her nightly routine, Ellie headed to bed.
After a while, she felt a chill as the covers were pulled back, and the bed dipped beside her.
The barely asleep Ellie frowned, clearly annoyed, ready to scold whoever disturbed her.
Kaiden watched her for a moment before yfully pinching her nose. Startled and struggling to breathe, Ellie woke up. In the dim moonlight, she saw a figure looming over her.
Instinctively, Ellie reached out to swat away the annoyance, identally touching him somewhere quite private. She even pinched it as retaliation.
Kaiden flinched, caught off guard.
As he retracted his hand, Ellie, unaware of what she’d touched, burrowed deeper into the covers.
She just wanted to sleep without interruptions.
But Kaiden wasn’t having it. He pulled her out and pinched her nose again, his expression dark.
