Chapter 138

    ?Chapter 138:

“What a coincidence,” Ellie remarked, unfazed.

Ellie and Essence, though both part of the affluent youth circle, were hardly acquainted. Essence, with a sly smile, pulled out her phone.

“I stumbled upon some gossip today, and guess what, it’s about Miss Gordon,” she said, showing Ellie her phone.

Curious eyes turned to Essence’s phone, where a forum post read, “Shocking! Ellie rides on a new man’s coattails. It’s suspected that she was ‘the other woman.''”

The photo showed Ellie and Theo in a Koenigsegg, Theo’s back to the camera, but Ellie’s face mostly visible. Despite the photo’sck of rity, Ellie was identifiable.

“Miss Gordon, you may not be a household name professionally, but you’re certainly a gossip column staple,” Essence remarked smugly. “I’d prefer a different stylist, one without scandalous baggage.” The onlookers’ gazes shifted. Despite privately admiring Ellie’s beauty and aesthetic sense, their opinions of Ellie were now tainted by thebel “the other woman.” Ellie, without uttering a word, had been branded as a gossip regr and an adulteress.

“Miss Robbins, are you the photographer, or do you know the man in the photo?” Ellie inquired, leaning against a table.

“I don’t have that much free time,” Essence retorted, sipping her coffee disdainfully. “But the man you were withst time wasn’t the one in the photo.”

The difference between a man who could stand up and a man who sat in a wheelchair was obvious.

“So, Miss Robbins, you’re judging me based on a rumor? Has the showbiz world clouded your rationality?” Ellie challenged.

“Ellie, you!” Essence, frustrated, could barely respond.

Disinterested in further conversation, Ellie addressed the staff. “Isn’t there another product endorsement avable? I’d rather switch.” Ellie had no desire to elevate those who harbored ill feelings toward her.

The staff hesitated. “Well, it’s for a lesser-known video gaming yer. The project isn’t as prestigious as this one. Miss Gordon, you are GT Group’s cooperative stylist, so we will do our best to provide you with the best resources.”

Essence regarded Ellie with a rxed demeanor, patiently awaiting any signs of remorse from her. Only a fool would willingly diminish their own standing by taking the initiative to style a video game enthusiast’s appearance.

“Then I will change to that side,” Ellie said.

    Essence was dumbfounded.

Ellie, pausing as she walked away, turned back to Essence. “Miss Robbins, your face is losing cogen. You should’ve prepared better for your spokesperson role.”

It was widely known that Essence had undergone facial enhancements. While not explicitlybeled as stic surgery, it was referred to as a micro facelift. Publicly mentioning Essence’s cosmetic procedures was a direct hit to her pride.

“You stop right there! Ellie!” Essence, infuriated, called out. “Does Mr. Thorpe know about your escapades? You don’t deserve his favor at all.”
