?Chapter 135:
“Not bad,” Kaiden murmured, barely giving it a nce.
As he spoke, Theo watched Kaiden’s reaction closely. “Just not bad? It’s from your wife. She designed it herself.”
Such ties were coveted for their superior material, design, and pattern.
Kaiden gave the tie a second nce.
After a brief pause, he asked, “It’s from Ellie?”
Jerome, catching on to Theo’s intent, yed along. “Kaiden, how can you dismiss her design as not bad? I really like this tie. Let me see it!”
Before Jerome could reach it, the box was snatched away. The man in the wheelchair had taken it.
The tie and box swiftly changed hands, eluding Theo.
Kaiden reopened the box and noticed for the first time that the tie’s pattern wasn’t paisley but an abstract vine he had never seen before. It was a perfect blend of dignity and finesse.
“I’ve looked into it. There’s no other tie with this design on the market. It’s a one-of-a-kind piece she created,” Theo said, reaching out. “Kaiden, it’s a gift from her. Please return it. I only brought it to show you.”
Jerome, amused, whispered to Theo, “You’re quite mischievous, aren’t you?” Then he turned to Kaiden and asked deliberately, “Kaiden, has Ellie ever given you a gift?”
Kaiden’s expression turned sour.
Theo and Jerome exchanged nces. Ellie hadn’t given Kaiden a gift before! This was their chance to rib Kaiden.
“Kaiden, thank her for me. This tie…” Before Theo could finish, Kaiden pocketed the tie and handed back the box.
“It’s mine now.”

“There’s embroidery with my name on it. It’s of no use to you,” Theo argued.
Kaiden replied coolly, “That’s not for you to decide.”
Theo was baffled by the turn of events.
Kaiden nced at him and offered, “I’ll give you a car. Choose one from my garage.”
Jerome chimed in, “Theo’s a wealthy heir too. His garage is full of luxury cars. He’s not in need!”
Theo admitted, “True, I just wanted the tie.”
Kaiden nodded. “Fine, I won’t offer the car.”
Theo was at a loss for words. His collection paled inparison to Kaiden’s, so of course, he wouldn’t mind getting a car from Kaiden. But now, he lost the tie and thepensation offered by Kaiden at the same time. Damn it!
Jeromeughed heartily, having been a mere spectator the whole time.
Later, Theo returned home, clearly disheartened.
“Theo, what’s the matter? Did something go wrong?” Edwin, lounging on the sofa, eyed his brother’s sullen face.
