?Chapter 125:
Bruce, standing by, couldn’t help but smirk as he smoothly handled the situation for Kaiden. “Mr. Gordon, if you’re struggling to understand, perhaps you’re not the right fit for handling those upscale furnishings.”
Reaching the car, Ellie paused.
“Just a moment, please,” she requested of Kaiden before hurrying over to the group of affluentdies.
“Thank you for your support, Mrs. Stephens,” Ellie acknowledged, nodding to the others. “And my thanks to all of you as well.”
Araceli returned the gesture with a warm smile. “Miss Gordon, there’s no need for such formalities. Interestingly, the sapphire on that brooch looked familiar.”
“Really?” Ellie responded with genuine interest. “It was a mysterious gift from mying-of-age celebration at school. I’ve always wondered about its origins. Mrs. Stephens, I must visit you soon to express my gratitude, not just for today but also for your eldest son’s recent help with my grandmother’s surgery.”
Araceli nced toward Kaiden and remarked, “Miss Gordon, there’s no rush. However, yourpanion over there seems to be growing impatient.”
Ellie instinctively turned to see Kaiden in his wheelchair, his demeanor a mix of indifference and impatience. He seemed eager to leave.
After thanking Araceli once more, Ellie hurried back to Kaiden. She checked her watch and muttered, “It hasn’t even been five minutes.”
Why such a gloomy face?
Kaiden looked up. “Ellie, are you aware of how much my time costs per minute?”
As the CEO of GT Group, his time was indeed precious.
Ellie met his gaze and queried, “Mr. Thorpe, do you calcte your time by the minute even when picking up your wife?”
After all, it was Kaiden who hade of his own ord; Ellie hadn’t requested his presence.

Something Ellie said seemed to affect Kaiden, as she noticed a flicker of annoyance in his expression before he entered the car. Despite the awkward moment, Ellie found herself in good spirits. Although Kaiden appeared displeased, he had waited for her.
“So, what brought you here so suddenly?” Ellie asked as she got into the car.
“Someone informed me that my wife was being harassed beyond endurance,” Kaiden replied nonchntly.
Bruce, sitting in the driver’s seat, nced back at them. He knew it was Kaiden who had instructed him to keep an eye on Ellie. After learning of her predicament with the Gordons, Kaiden had abruptly left his meeting.
Ellie scoffed. Had she really been close to serious trouble? Neither Demi nor Litzy had managed to get the better of her. And as for the million-dor transaction for the silver ne that might hold clues to her past, that seemed like a worthwhile investment.
Sitting beside Kaiden, Ellie felt an unusual sense of security, almost like a house once open to the elements now securely enclosed. Though the house was empty, it offered protection and a touch offort.
