Xylia frowned. “Don’t listen to Connor’s nonsense.”

Connor wouldn’t take any rash actions before securing the Garcia Group’s project. And, more importantly, he wouldn’t do anything impulsive.

Joshua smiled, but didn’t say a word.

Xylia stole a nce at Joshua. Today, he wore a casual ck T–shirt and ck pants. The car drove beneath the shade of the trees, and sunlight filtered through the branches and windshield, casting a soft glow across his face. His silver hair shimmered stunningly.

“I’m handsome, right?” Joshua suddenly spoke, catching Xylia off guard.

Xylia met Joshua’s gaze as he nced at her while driving. Her cheeks flushed. She cleared her throat lightly, trying to change the subject. “You, the Garcia family’s driver, sure dress casually,” she said.

Previously, she hadn’t noticed Joshua’s clothes. She’d assumed it was normal for someone capable of saving 600 thousand to afford expensive clothing.

Yesterday, after leaving the mall, it was only upon hearing Josie’s remarks that Xylia found it strange.

“The Garcia family’s driver? The tailoring of his suit alone would cost thousands, and the whole outfit must be worth at least ten thousand. Would a driver really wear such expensive clothes?

“Even if he allowed himself a bit of luxury, today is a workday. Families like the Garcia’s always have their drivers on standby. How could he just casually go out like this?” Josie said.

Since Xylia met Joshua, he seems quite rxed. And she clearly remembered that, apart from the suit she saw yesterday, there were several other expensive ones.

He had only been working for a few years, yet he already had arge savings and several expensive suits, with casual wear that wasn’t cheap either.

Even if the Garcia family paid their drivers well, it couldn’t possibly be enough for him. She began to doubt whether he was really just a driver.

He replied, “The personal driver for the Garcia family certainly can’t dress as casually as I do. I’m not a personal driver. I sometimes just tag along with the boss on some projects.”

It dawned on Xylia. The Garcia family’s projects weren’t small, most of Joshua’s ie probably came frommissions on these projects. She gave him an appreciative thumbs–up. “You’re young and sessful.”

Joshua smiled. It seemed this exnation worked.

“But you really do have a connection with the Garcia family, don’t you? Not only do you work there and earn a living, but you also share the same surname,” Xylia added.

Joshua smiled again, smoothly changing the subject. “I heard from the boss that you’re not actually the daughter of the Garcia family, but you need to expose this truth tomorrow. Why?”

“To get a divorce.” Xylia nced at Joshua, her eyes filled with anticipation. “I won’t invite you to tomorrow’s show. But once I’ve divorced that jerk, I’ll treat you to dinner to celebrate.”

“Why won’t you invite me?” he asked.

“Because even though it will have a good result, it’s not fun,” Xylia said.

Joshua nced at her, and she cheerfully winked back. His eyes flickered briefly, and he quickly looked away. The road ahead was smooth, but his mind was in turmoil, unsettled like he was climbing a steep hill.

One hourter, the Maybach pulled up in front of the High Desert Hotel. Joshua led Xylia upstairs to a private room on the second floor.

Aaron and Eliza were already waiting there. As the door opened, both of them turned their gaze toward the

    entrance.

Xylia and Joshua entered the room one after the other. As they looked up, they immediately met two pairs of eager eyes. Xylia froze, feeling bewildered as she looked at them.

“These two are Mr. Garcia and his wife.” As he spoke, Joshua looked toward Aaron and Eliza, introducing Xylia to them. “This is Miss Xylia Schultz.”

Xylia had expected to meet only Yana, but she didn’t anticipate that Aaron and Eliza would be here as well. Since Yana already knew that Xylia wasn’t the daughter of the Garcia family, Xylia was surprised that they still wanted to meet her.

Her mind was a whirlwind, and she forgot to greet them.

Joshua nudged her shoulder with his elbow. “Say hello.”

“Hello, Mr. Garcia, Mrs. Garcia,” she said instinctively, but something about it felt off.

Eliza stood up with a bright smile and walked toward Xylia. She stared at her future daughter–inw’s face without blinking. “Xylia, it’s so nice to finally meet you. Are you hungry? Let’s eat and chat.”

Eliza pulled Xylia to the table. Joshua followed and sat down beside Xylia,

Xylia greeted Aaron awkwardly, sending a pleading look toward Joshua. Joshua smiled and gave her a reassuring nce.

With Eliza’s warm hospitality, Xylia ordered two dishes.

While waiting, she spoke first. “Mr. Garcia, Mrs. Garcia, I’m sorry to have wasted your time. I’m not the Garcia family’s daughter, and I’ll exin everything to you.”

“Why are you saying that?” Eliza interrupted her, holding Xylia’s hand. “It doesn’t matter if you’re not part of our family now. After all, it’s just a matter of time.”

    “Huh?” Xylia blinked, confused.

Eliza kept staring at Xylia, pleased with what she saw. She was a sucker for good looks and couldn’t take her eyes off attractive people.

But when Eliza looked up and met her son’s eyes, she saw him ring at her, teeth clenched, as if warning her to stop talking.

Eliza mentally cursed Joshua, but restrained herself from speaking further.

Aaron cleared his throat and intervened. “Ms. Schultz, Yana has already told us about your situation. We came today just to have a meal with you.”

Xylia, feeling more anxious, forced herself to act calm.

Noticing her difort, Eliza gave Aaron a meaningful look. Aaron excused himself, citing other matters, and left first.

Eliza went to the restroom, but before leaving, she gave Joshua a pointed look. He pretended to answer a phone call and followed her out.

Only now did Xylia have a moment to address her own emotions. Today really caught her off guard.

Eliza waited for Joshua outside. The moment he stepped out, she confronted him. “You were supposed to wait for Noelle at the restaurant yesterday. Why did you leave early?”

Joshua’s gaze was cold and stern. “Why did you set this up?”

Eliza was aware that Joshua was unwilling to meet Noelle. However, over the years, she had cared for Noelle as if she were her own daughter and did not wish to see discord arise within the family.

“Noelle has now left Jupiton as well, you two absolutely cannot have a falling out. Do you understand?” Eliza

    said.

“What you think is none of my business,” Joshua said.

Eliza was furious and about to speak, but Joshua cut her off, saying, “Alright, your future daughter–inw is in there. Don’t dwell on irrelevant things.”

After speaking, Joshua did not wait for Eliza to say anything and turned around and entered the private room.
