“Hey, sweetheart,” Axel said as I picked up the video call, a wide smile on his face, his hair blowing in the wind.

“Hi,” I replied, taking a seat and dropping my bag.

    “How’s my gorgeous human doing?”

I sighed. “Oh, you know, she’s lonely and misses her man.”

“Hey, hey, you were the one who told me to live, and stopped hovering around you like I was your shadow. You particrly ckmailed me.”

Yeah, I remembered that night. We were just done making love, tangled in each other, covered in sweat, and I had said, “You should go see the sea.”

It was the first month after we returned to London and I resumed school. Axel dropped me off at school and picked me up every damn day, and while I was at school, he was just at home, doing who knows what, acting like a house husband.

He never onceined, but I wasn’tfortable with him living like that. I was living, so why couldn’t he?

“Why?” he responded, his arms around me, the scent of sweat and his other scent oozing off him like a fragrance.

“Don’t you get bored? Just sitting at home all day and waiting for me toe home like you’re some kind of housewife.”

“I don’t mind being a housewife for you, my sweetheart,” he said, nibbling on my ear.

I groaned, pushing his face away. “Don’t distract me!”

He chuckled, staying still. “Fine. Go on.”

I cleared my throat. “It makes me feel guilty, you know? Because I feel like you’re putting your life on pause for me.”

Ever since we left, Ss has never once contacted Axel, and he did as he said, freezing all of Axel’s ounts— the ones he knew of, anyway–and cutting him off from thepany. But like Axel said, he had cash stashed, and he wasn’t even worried.

“Is this what they call emotional ckmail?” he asked, unimpressed.

    I grinned. “Maybe.”

He sighed. “What do you want me to do, then?”

“Like I said, go see the sea. You said you’ve always wanted to, so now you can. There’s no responsibility holding you down now. You’re free. So live a little.”

    ***

“I was just joking,” I said, smiling into the phone. “I miss you, but I’m not lonely. Knowing you’re doing what you love is enough for me.”

His smile widened, his hair getting into his eyes and he kept pushing it away. “Well, aren’t you sweet?”

    “Very sweet, actually.”

“So sweet, I get a toothache just from kissing you.”

Beside me, Sofia gagged, rolling her eyes. “God, you two are like an old couple.”

“Someone’s jealous,” I joked and she rolled her eyes again. Sofia and Axel still didn’t like each other, but they were trying.

“I gotta go, sweetheart,” Axel said. “We’re about to board the ship.”

    I nodded. “Love you.”

    “I love you, sweetheart.”

I ended the call, still smiling, holding the phone to my chest.

“Oh, Rosette, please,” Sofia grumbled. “Get a hold of yourself!”

I just kept smiling. “I don’t want to. You should try love.”

    She scowled. “No, thank you.”

    ***

The next day, I was alone at home when a knock came at the door. I was reading a book, but I paused, looking at the door.

I barely had visitors, and Sofia and Axel didn’t knock. I stood up, moving to the door and looking into the hole.

My heart kicked against my chest.

I almost ripped the door from its hinges from how hard I opened it. I threw myself at Axel, wrapping my

    arms around him.

“You fool!” I eximed, burying my face in his neck. “You didn’t tell me you wereing! And why the hell are you knocking?”

“That was the only way I know to surprise you,” he answered, kissing my hair.

    “Oh, I’ve missed you.”

    “Likewise, sweetheart.”

Before we knew what was happening, our lips were glued together, my legs around his waist as he carried me inside, closing the door and carrying me to our room.

He dropped me on the bed, breaking the kiss so we could take off each other’s clothes.

“God, I’ve missed you,” he rasped, kissing everywhere he could reach, leaving heat in his wake. “I’ve missed you so damn much. Can I just put it in? I’m too impatient for forey.”

“Yes,” I whispered, my arms tight around his neck. “But be gentle.”

He kissed me as he entered me slowly, both of us moaning. He moved his hips slowly, making me feel every inch of him, how he was throbbing, and how hot he was. I felt it all.

Even though his hips were slowly moving, they were angled in a way that hit the right spots, making me see

    stars.

“Yes,” I cried, my nails leaving marks on his back. “Yes, like that, Axel. Don’t stop.”

He groaned, leaning down and licking my neck before he bit down gently. I went still, but immediately rxed.

He had exined to me how mating works, that he had to bite my neck to leave the mark, but I wasn’t ready for that yet. The tether bond was enough for me.

So anytime he bit on my neck, I grew nervous, but he always did so gently, never going beyond that.

“I would never do that without your permission,” he rasped, licking my corbone. “Never.”

    “I know.”

He thrust in deep and slow, making me cry out, my back arching off the bed. He grabbed both hands, interlocking our fingers and holding them above my head, looking deep in my eyes, his thrust never wavering.

    my

There was a look in his eyes–heated and intense, more than it usually was, and the next words he spoke made me know why that look was there.

    “Marry me, Rosette.”

I went still, my eyes going wide. He never stopped moving his hips, his eyes fixed on mine. “Why the hell do you look so shocked? Surely you must have seen thising. We’re going to spend the rest of our lives together anyway, so why not just get married? I want to be called your husband, not your boyfriend. I want us to wear the same ring that symbolized our love. Is that asking for too much? Tell me, and I’ll never utter the word again.”

I shook my head. “No.” His eyes went wide, his thrusts faltering. “No, it’s not much. And why do you also look shocked? Did you honestly think I was going to reject your proposal?”

“Yes,” he muttered, his eyes still wide.

“You’re silly. How could I ever?”

    “So you’ll marry me?”

    “Of course I will.”

He released my hands, his hand slipping under my neck and he held my head gently, resuming his thrust, and this time they were deeper.

“You won’t reject it,” he groaned. “I will love you with everything that I am. I will never stop.”

I buried my face in his neck, my eyes watering. “I love you so much.”

    “I love you even more.”

We came together, moaning each other’s name, our hearts beating in sync. After that, I rested on his chest, catching my breath, and feeling his heartbeat.

“You should try knotting in me one day,” I said out of nowhere and he went still beneath me, his heart skipping a beat.

“What?” he asked, his voice hoarse.

I didn’t raise my head from his chest. “You heard me. I think I can get used to that.”

“Why in the world would you want to get used to that pain?”

“It’s okay. Thest time, I wasn’t prepared, but with you, I know I’ll be able to take it.”

He hasn’t entered his rut since we returned, but I know he will soon. I didn’t want him to be in pain, so I was going to do that for him.

    “You’re

crazy, Rosette,” he whispered, his arms tightening around me.

“They say love makes you crazy. They weren’t exaggerating.”

    He scoffed. “True,”

His phone pinged, a messageing in, and he reached out for it, still holding me with one hand. Then he went still, his heartbeat picking up.

“Holy shit,” he whispered. I raised my head from his chest, looking at him.

“What is it?” I asked, my heartbeat already racing.

His eyes were still fixed on the phone screen before he finally looked at me.

    “Kade is getting married.”

AUTHOR’S NOTE; Hello, loves. Unfortunately–and fortunately–Axel and Rosette’s story hase to an end. Sooooooo when I started this book, this wasn’t a turn I thought it would take. I really want to make it a reverse harem, and make sure all the men get the girl, but listen, these characters write their own stories and these things happen. Axel didn’t want to share Rosette and I had no choice but to listen. So in the end they got what they wanted, but don’t worry, the other boys will get their own story. Book two will be about Kade. I hope you love this new couple as much as you loved Axel and Rosette.

Thank you so much for your endless support. Y’all really are the best ^^

And I hope you’ll continue to support me until the end of this book.

    See you in book two
