Chapter56
“Wesley, are you Larissa’s dog? You do whatever she tells you to do”
She had always wondered why Wesley refused to divorce her
She thought it was love, or maybe just habit…
But it turned out it had nothing to do with feelings at all.
Wesley’s forehead veins bulged as he struggled to contain his anger.
Larissa’s eyes brimmed with tears, looking utterly aggrieved.
“Prisci, you misunderstood me and Wes. I persuaded Wes not to divorce. It’s not for myself, but for you.”
Prisci raised an eyebrow and sneered. “Oh?”
Larissa bit her lip and felt humiliated by Prisci’s all–seeing gaze.
“After all, Prisci, you’ve already married to Wes. I hope you two will always be happy.”
Tears rolled down from her reddened eyes.
She looked utterly sincere.
Prisci murmured softly. “Happy?”
She let out a coldugh. “If you didn’t exist in this world. I would be happy.”
“Prisci.” Larissa’s face turned deathly pale, and she looked about to copse.
“That’s enough, Prisci. Larissa is your sister.” Wesley scolded and felt clearly displeased.
Speaking like that was no different from cursing Larissa to die.
Prisci’s already fragile emotionspletely copsed at his defense of Larissa.
Tears welled in her eyes as she looked up at her husband. “Wesley, I want to say it again: you truly disgust me.”
“You won’t divorce me because your affair has be a scandal online. If you divorce, she’ll be branded a homewrecker for sure, right‘?”
“So you’re dragging out this marriage for her, to protect her.”
“You are really despicable.”
She vented all the grievances she had bottled up and cursed him without mercy.
“Prisci, that’s enough.” Wesley’s deep voice was already filled with
anger.
“No! No! No!”
Prisci raised her voice and felt blinded by rage.
“For your reputation and your interests, you sacrificed everything of mine. Why?” she screamed hysterically.
“Enough.” ude’s voice rang out.
Everything that happened in the garden had rmed everyone.
ude was the first to arrive.
The first thing he saw was Larissa who was clutching her cheek. He pulled her hand away, and when he saw the bright red handprint, his eyes were filled with fury.
“You did?” He looked at Prisci with a cold and menacing.
expression.
Larissa’s tears fell one after another.
ude, seething with anger, spat the most venomous words at Prisci: “No wonder nobody likes you, you vicious woman.
“Those people online are right. You were born to be malicious, that’s why you lost your child.”
“He didn’t want a mother as vicious and mean as you.”
At that moment, Prisci’s heart was shattered beyond repair.
She raised her hand to p ude’s mouth.
But as soon as her wrist was raised, Wesley grabbed it tightly.
The next second.
ude’s pnded on Prisci’s face.
A crisp “smack” echoed.
Prisci’s head snapped to the side, with her ears ringing. Her mouth was filled with the taste of blood.
Wesley abruptly let go and his voice was dry and hoarse. “Prisci.”
Prisci covered her cheek and suddenly felt that everything was meaningless.
What was the point of arguing here?
13:13
Both her husband and her brother were on Larissa’s side.
She turned and walked away.
“Prisci.” Wesley caught up to her and his tone was a bit anxious. “Let me exin.”
Prisci said nothing and only resolutely and slowly brushed his hand
away.
At this moment, she maintained an eerily terrifying calm.
“I will draft a new divorce agreement for you. This time, I hope Mr. Carlton can sign it without dy.”
That p he blocked had exhausted thest bit of affection between them.
It made her truly andpletely give up.
Wesley watched as his hand was slowly pushed away. He had grabbed her wrist to stop her from hitting anyone further.
He hadn’t expected ude to suddenly get physical.
At this moment, overwhelming regret engulfed him.
“If you want to leave, then go away quickly.” ude sneered, with his tant malice. “You’ve been Mrs. Carlton for three years–do you really think you’re someone special? Without the Carlton family and the Wilburn family, you’re nothing but a useless nobody.”
“And let me tell you. Wes has always loved Larissa, always. Marrying you was just to block the Carlton family from arranging blind dates for him. Now that Larissa is back, you should hurry up and leave.”
“ude.”
“ude.”
Two voices tried to stop him.
Prisci felt a stabbing pain in her chest, but a faint smile appeared on her face and her voice was barely audible.
“So that’s how it is.”
So from the very beginning, she had been the shield Wesley chose for Larissa.
And yet she had poured her feelings into this ridiculous marriage and even hoped to live a peaceful life with Wesley.
What a fool she was.
