Chapter 376
Kimsey had really pulled off something big.
The weight Landon had been carrying in his heart was finally gone.
He felt lighter than ever before.
“Honey, let’s go to the amusement park!” Landon, in rare high spirits, suggested.
Amelia shook her head, a helpless smile tugging at her lips as she looked at him.
Kimsey had never been to an amusement park before.
His parents always said he was too little to y, and his grandma worried there’d be too many germs in a public y area.
But today, on his first visit, he was having the time of his life, waving his tiny arms as he tossed the ocean balls around, his smile blooming like a flower.
This ce was so much fun, and there were so many kids. Kimsey didn’t know that helping people heal would let hime to the amusement park.
From now on, he was going to help more people ande to the amusement park more often.
Amelia and Landon, having no idea what was going on in Kimsey’s little head, just yed with him on the kiddie slide and other rides.
They didn’t leave until Kimsey waspletely worn out and fell asleep in their arms, then the three of them made their way back to the Zuckerberg family home.
“Honey, why don’t we get a ce here in Lunova?” Landon suggested.
Living at the Zuckerberg family ce all the time just didn’t feel right to him,
“No need. Once Ka’s out of the hospital, we’ll head back to Norava,” Amelia replied. Honestly, she didn’t mind staying with the Zuckerbergs family at
all.
After all, this was her family’s ce.
The only thing that really bugged her was that her dad hadn’t shown up at her brother’s wedding.
She still hadn’t even met her father.
Ka was only in the hospital for two days, hooked up to an IV drip, and then she was out.
Her sudden recovery left the doctors scratching their heads. But of course, they figured it was just their hospital’s amazing treatment that did the trick.
There was no other way to exin how someone with/such a serious illness could get better so fast.
Ka even made a thank–you banner herself and brought it to the hospital, which only made everyone more convinced that it was all thanks to the
doctors.
Tuff was grinning from ear to ear every single day, so happy he didn’t even bother going to work. He just took time off to stay home with Ka
Maggie was still suspicious, thinking it all sounded too good to be true. She pulled Tuff aside and asked, “Son, is your wife really cured?”
“Of course, Mom! The doctors said sol” Tuff replied, beaming,
“And she can have kids now?” Maggie pressed.

“Yeah! Ka says she wants two!” Tuff straightened up, looking all proud. “But honestly, I’m not ready for kids yet. Let’s just have fun for a couple years
before we even think about that.”
Maggie felt as miserable as if she’d eaten something awful.
When Joyce told her that the woman outside was pregnant, Maggie was secretly pleased. She’d been scheming in her head about how to talk Ka into taking the baby in once it was born.
But now that Ka could have kids of her own, there was no way she’d agree to raise someone else’s child.
Maybe, Ka even ended up divorcing Tuff over this whole mess.
“Mom, what’s up with you?” Tuff frowned when he saw the look on Maggie’s face. “I’m serious, Mom. If you keep making things hard for Ka, I’ll take her back to Norava and we won’t evere back!”
“Yeah, yeah, I get it…” Maggie grumbled.
Feeling awkward, she made up an excuse about going shopping and went to find Joyce.
“Joyce, Ka’s all better now, and she can have kids again!” Maggie said.
“What?”
Joyce stared at her, stunned. “How could she possibly recover from that? That illness was supposed to be impossible to cure!”
“It’s true! The hospital stay actually cured her,” Maggie said, forcing the words out. “Joyce, where’s that girl now?”
“What are you trying to say?” Joyce felt a chill run down her spine, her hand unconsciously moved to her lower abdomen.
“Since she just got pregnant now, go to the hospital and have it terminated! I’llpensate her,” Maggie said coldly. “300 thousand dors. That should cover it, right?”
Joyce’s face fell.
After a long silence, she finally said, “But, that’s your own grandchild.”
“There will be more grandchildren in the future, but if Tuff ever finds out about this, he’ll be furious!”
Maggie was scared out of her wits.
If her son really cut ties with her and ran off to Norava to be a live–in son–inw, then her whole life would have been for nothing.
The Prescott family fortune would just end up in the hands of the other branches.
“Maggie, I really don’t think I can go through with this…” Joyce felt her chest tighten, anxiety swirling inside her.
“Is she just after more money?” Maggie’s expression turned sour. “300 thousand dors isn’t enough for her? How much does she want?”
Joyce drew in a shaky breath. “It’s not just about the money…”
“Is there really anything money can’t solve?” Maggie sneered. “Joyce, just go talk to her and hand over two million dors. Don’t even bother discussing
with me.”
“Maggie, when the doctor found out she was pregnant, he said she can’t have an abortion—if she does, she’ll never be able to have children again, Joyce said quietly.
“What?” Maggie blurted out, her face turning pale.
‘Does this mean that girl has no choice but to keep the baby?‘ She thought, panic rising in her chest.

It was one thing to force herself to get rid of it before it was born, but once there was a real, living child in front of her, could she really bring herself to do something so cruel?
Maggie started pacing in circles, anxiety written all over her face. “What are we supposed to do now? Tuff absolutely cannot find out about this…
Joyce picked up the water, sipped it delicately, and stayed silent.
“Joyce, you have to help me,” Maggie said, sitting down right in front of her, her eyes burning with urgency.
“I’ve already done everything I can to help you have a grandchild,” Joyce replied quietly.
“You found her, and you came up with the n–now you need to figure something else out!” Maggie demanded.
As the eldest daughter–inw in a high–society family, Maggie knew just how messy things could get when a household like theirs was thrown into chaos.
She’d never really thought Ka was good enough, but now that Ka was officially part of the family, as long as she could have children, Maggie figured there was nothing left to fuss about.
“Maggie, that’s just not fair. I’ve been doing everything I can for you,” Joyce said, sounding genuinely hurt.
“I know you mean well, and that’s why I need you to think of something else! If you can make this happen, I’ll owe you big time!” Maggie urged.
Joyce let out a quiet smile, her gazending right on the ne Maggie was wearing.
The icy green emerald ne gleamed against Maggie’s skin, making herplexion look smooth and wless.
Maggie paused, then instinctively reached up to touch her neck.

This was the Prescott family’s ultimate status symbol–the piece every daughter–inw had schemed for. Only after Maggie became thedy of the house
did her mother–inw finally hand it over to her.
“Joyce, this isn’t something I can just hand over…” Maggie said, her voice tense as she clutched the ne.
“I never asked for it,” Joyce replied with a faint smile, her eyes lowered.
She simply kept sipping her water, refusing to say another word.
Maggie was getting seriously annoyed.
‘I have to be careful with my son at home, and now I have to be careful with my goddaughter too?‘ Maggie grumbled inwardly, her jaw clenched.
But things had gotten way too serious: Gritting her teeth, Maggie finally took off the emerald ne and shoved it into Joyce’s hand. “Come on, you know I’m only saying this because I care! I never had a daughter, so you’re basically family to me. If I don’t spoil you, who else would I?”
“Mom, this really isn’t right…” Joyce pretended to protest,
“Joyce, you have to make this happen!” Maggie insisted.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle it. As for the money, I’ll cover it,” Joyce assured her.
“Oh? You really don’t have to do that!” Maggie said, a bit surprised.
“It won’t take much to settle this,” Joyce replied casually.
“If you say so, then fine,” Maggie agreed, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Feeling relieved atst, Maggie took Joyce’s hand and showered her with sweet, affectionate words.
But Joyce barely listened, her thoughts drifting as she idly yed with the emerald ne around her neck.
