Chapter 1603

    ?Chapter 1603:

Fine. Let them try. She’d make sure they learned what it meant to lose her.

Once she hired the world’s top assassin, she refused to believe anyone could keep Christina alive.

Deathbringer. That name alone sent tremors through the underworld. Deathbringer had once dismantled an entire assassin syndicate single-handedly. Her skills were unmatched, her aim infallible. Killing from a mile away was child’s y to her.

Whenever Deathbringer epted a contract, the oue was always the same—her targets never survived. Her record was wless: a perfect hundred percent.

Vickie’s lips curled into a venomous smile. Her teeth clenched, her fists tightening with resolve.

What she could never imagine, however, was that the very assassin she nned to hire… was Christina herself.

The next day, when Vickie saw Terrence again, she sat stiff and tense, her previous arrogance nowhere to be found.

Fear crawled beneath her skin—this madman could easily pull that gun again and put a bullet in her skull without a second thought.

“You can really help me win Dn over?” she asked, suspicion flickering in her eyes.

Something about him unsettled her, but she also knew she couldn’t do it alone. Without his help, Dn would remain forever out of reach.

“Of course,” Terrence replied, his lips curving into a sly grin—dark and taunting. “And I’ll even throw in a secret.”

“A secret?” Vickie frowned, confusioncing her voice.

Terrence’s smile deepened. His icy-blue eyes narrowed as his tone dropped to azy, seductive murmur. “You didn’t really think they were finished with each other… did you?”

“What did you just say?” Vickie’s heart lurched violently as she sprang to her feet, shock shing across her face. She couldn’t believe what she’d just heard—her eyes widened in disbelief.

Had they been pretending all along?

The realization struck her like a p. She remembered how Dn and Christina had acted like strangers in front of her, and humiliation crawled hotly up her spine—especially when she’d flirted with Dn while badmouthing Christina behind his back.

She must have looked like the biggest fool alive.

They had yed her. Both of them.

Seeing Terrence smile without offering an answer only fueled her rage. “So you’re saying they never broke up?” she demanded, her voice sharp with disbelief. “The whole thing was just an act?”

Her fingers curled into tight fists, nails biting into her palms as her body trembled with fury. They had mocked her—made her their entertainment.

“You grew up with Dn,” Terrence said, leaning back leisurely and crossing one leg over the other. His tone dripped with casual disdain. “You should know him better than that. He’s the kind of man who’d throw his life away for a woman. Do you honestly believe he’d cklist her across the entire industry?”

The words hit Vickie square in the chest.
