Chapter 1335

    ?Chapter 1335:

Beth’s voice wavered as she stepped forward. “Miss Jones, I’ve read about you. The Jones family in Kitaso adopted you. They’re not your birth parents… and you still haven’t found your real family. Please—do the test with us.”

Herposure finally broke. Tears rolled down her face. “If you agree, I’ll give you one hundred million dors immediately. And no matter the result, I will still give you another two hundred million. If you have any other conditions—anything at all—we will meet them.”

Beth had looked into Christina’s past. She knew the pain. She knew that Christina had been thrown into a foreign training camp as a child, abandoned to survive on her own.

Mack and Liza were total scum. Even if Christina wasn’t their biological daughter, they had no right to treat her so heartlessly. To Beth, it didn’t matter whether Christina was truly her daughter or not. The suffering Christina had endured was something no human should experience. How could Mack and Liza have been so cruel?

“Please…” Florrie reached out again, but Christina gently stopped her.

“Don’t do this,” she said softly, her voice calm, eyes warm. “You don’t have to beg me.”

The truth was—Christina felt something from them. A warmth she had never received from the Jones family in Kitaso. And she had already nned to investigate her real origins. If fate had brought this family to her door, then perhaps it was time to stop running from it.

“I’ll do the DNA test,” Christina said, gently patting Florrie’s hand.

Florrie froze for a heartbeat—then her face broke into a tearful smile.

She grasped Christina’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go. She was sure Christina must be Bonnie, her dear granddaughter.

“Let’s go now,” Christina added. “The sooner we test, the sooner we’ll know.”

“Alright!” Florrie, Beth, and Ophelia answered in unison, their voices ovepping with urgency. If instant results had existed, they would have demanded them on the spot.

They rushed to the forensic center. Christina and Beth provided blood samples and paid extra for expedited processing.

Still, they had to wait until the next day for the results. As they stepped out, Florrie held tightly to Christina’s hand, as if letting go meant losing her all over again.

Christina had meant to leave, but Florrie’s firm grip on her hand made it impossible for her to step away.

Every time Christina met Florrie’s hopeful gaze, her resolve faltered, and she found herself looking away too soon.

A quiet unease stirred inside Christina. She worried the DNA results might break Florrie’s heart. The child had vanished years ago because of Florrie’s mistake, and she had been haunted by that loss ever since. If this hope crumbled too, Christina feared Florrie wouldn’t have the strength to bear it.

Once a person lost hope, the world often faded around them. Especially someone like Florrie, burdened by years of guilt. The single thing that kept her going was the faint light of finding that lost child.

“It’s almost mealtime,” Florrie said gently. “Why don’t we go to Morfort Restaurant together?”

She had first thought of inviting Christina home but worried it might make her ufortable, so she decided on the restaurant instead.

Christina caught Florrie’s expectant look. The polite refusal she’d been about to give stayed trapped in her throat. Everyone’s gaze turned to her, full of quiet anticipation, waiting for her answer.

“Christina, please let us show our gratitude,” Ophelia said softly, taking her arm. “We’ll feel awful if you refuse again. Especially since you won’t even take our money.”

Christina had agreed to the DNA test, and Beth had offered her three hundred million, which she firmly declined. Since she had refused the money, the least she could do was ept a meal or two.

“Yes, Bo—” Beth caught herself, then smiled faintly. “Miss Jones, you’ve done so much for us. Please, let us have the honor of sharing a meal with you.”
