?Chapter 1309:
He wasn’t done yet. Next time their paths crossed, he would make sure Dn didn’t walk away.
Morning came.
Christina awoke and headed downstairs for breakfast. But as she reached the stairs, she froze. The living room was packed with bodyguards lined up in perfect rows.
There had never been this many people inside the vi before.
What was going on?
Then she spotted Aylin. Last she checked, Aylin was assigned to the Dorfield vi.
Her confusion deepened. What was Aylin doing in Jasgow? Did Dn send her here with all these guards?
“Good morning, Miss Jones!” the bodyguards greeted in perfect sync.
Christina blinked in surprise, forcing a polite smile as her eyes met Aylin’s.
“Aylin… Did Dn ask you to bring all these people here?” she asked, confusion clear in her voice.
“Yes, Miss Jones,” Aylin answered respectfully. It was obvious Dn cared deeply for Christina. He had gone out of his way to make sure she was safe, even sending half his team to protect her.
Christina frowned, still confused. “Why would he send this many guards?”
As the question left her lips, a thought struck Christina. Maybe Dn had run into trouble on his way back to Dorfieldst night, which was why he sent so many guards for her. He must have been afraid that if the attackers couldn’t get to him, they’de after her instead.
“Mr. Scott only told me to bring these men to keep you safe, Miss Jones. He didn’t exin anything else,” Aylin said respectfully.
They were there to follow Dn’s orders, nothing more. In their line of work, asking questions often did more harm than good.
“Alright, I understand.” Christina looked at the group of guards and sighed softly. “Let them rest for now.”

“Yes, Miss Jones,” Aylin replied quickly before leading the team away and dividing them into shifts.
One group stayed on patrol while the others took turns resting, making sure Christina was protected both inside and outside the vi.
Christina walked into the dining room, and the maids hurried to serve her breakfast.
“Miss Jones, this is the porridge you mentioned yesterday. Please let us know if it’s to your liking,” one of the maids said politely.
The maids had confirmed her breakfast preferences the day before to make sure everything was perfectly prepared.
Dn had made it clear. Christina’sfort came first. If she wasn’t pleased, they wouldn’tst long in this job. Their only mission was to keep her satisfied and safe.
