Chapter 1308

    ?Chapter 1308:

Ever since Edwin started working for Dn, the assassination attempts had never stopped.

The worst one happened in Kitaso, when Dn barely escaped with his life.

If King hadn’t chosen Dn back then and operated on him himself, Dn wouldn’t have made it.

Edwin had to admit, Dn wasn’t just tough, he was unbelievably lucky too.

But unless they found and dealt with whoever was pulling the strings, the attacks would keeping.

Edwin frowned a little, a trace of worry slipping into his mind. No matter how much they investigated, they still hadn’t figured out who was behind it all.

Their enemies stayed hidden in the dark, while they were out in the open for everyone to see.

Edwin couldn’t shake the fear that one day, their luck would simply run out.

He knew no one stayed unlucky forever. But no one stayed lucky forever either.

Life was too long for things to always go smoothly; sooner orter, something had to go wrong.

And when that day finally came, Edwin couldn’t help but wonder if Dn would stille out of it alive.

What worried him even more was the thought that if those people failed too many times with Dn, they might go after Christina next.

“Mr. Scott,” Edwin said carefully. “What if they start targeting Miss Jones instead? Should we assign more men to protect her?”

“Yeah.” Dn’s brows furrowed as a hard, determined look shed in his eyes.

He knew he needed to assign more guards for Christina’s protection.

Those people had always been after him, but if they couldn’t get to him, they’d go after his family, and Christina would be the easiest target. He couldn’t afford to be careless.

Dn’s icy gaze stayed locked on the road ahead. Until the one pulling the strings was caught, he’d never know peace. That person was a ticking time bomb. One that could destroy everything he cared about.

Inside an upscale, heavily guarded estate, a nervous subordinate stood before Terrence and reported cautiously, “Mr. Branson, the mission failed again.”

Terrence’s fingers clenched around his wine ss, his piercing eyes darkening with irritation.

He took a slow sip of wine, his eyes clouded with cold fury. No matter how many times he tried, Dn always managed to crawl out alive.

“Keep eyes on him,” Terrence said in a low, frosty tone. “Wait for the right time. And when thates, don’t miss.”

“Yes, Mr. Branson!” The subordinate bowed quickly before hurrying out.

Terrence refilled his ss and moved to the window. The city lights reflected off the surface of his drink as he stared at the world outside.
