Chapter 1267

    ?Chapter 1267:

“You did this?” they demanded together, stunned.

Davina, the woman who had humiliated them at Morfort, turned out to be the dead witch’s daughter.

Davina lifted her chin. “Why not me?” she asked coldly.

Conrad lunged, fury written across his face. “How dare you team up to shame your family!” he snarled, reaching to p her. However, a bodyguard’s boot intercepted him. Conrad flew and hit the ground with a heavy thud.

He rolled, clutching a bleeding, scraped arm. Pain twisted his features.

Davina watched him struggle and said, with a hint of mockery, “Thought my guards were for show?”

Conrad trembled with rage but had no power. She’de prepared.

Terence cut in, voice hard. “Enough. She’s your sister. You will not speak to her like that.”

Then he turned on the charm. He pasted a syrupy smile on his face. “Sweetie, give us the antidote. We’ll return your mother’s ashes—right away.”

He and Nelly were wasted. In mere days, the illness had drained their color and strength.

The hospital had done nothing. The so-called best doctors in Jasgow were baffled and useless.

Terence, desperate, clung to one option: beg Davina. What he didn’t know was that the toxin’s maker—Noxin—could not be traced. No routine tests could detect it. No hospital could conjure an antidote.

Davina’s lip curled. “Sweetie? Don’t call me that. It makes me sick. But you want the antidote? Sure. Hand over my mother’s ashes first.”

Terence hesitated. Giving up the ashes meant losing their only leverage.

“Don’t! What if she takes them and never gives us the antidote?” Nelly shouted.

Without the antidote and without the ashes, they’d be stuck—suffering forever with no bargaining chip.

“I have the antidote right here. Give me my mother’s ashes and I’ll give it to you now,” Davina offered, holding her ground.

Before Terence could answer, Conrad grabbed him.

“Dad! Don’t agree. She could be tricking us,” Conrad hissed, pulling Terence aside. “I’ve called backup. I don’t believe two bodyguards can stop twenty of ours.”

“You called that many bodyguards?” Terence’s face lit up with hope, and a smile slipped out.

“Yes. Rx, Dad. She only brought two. They’ll be no match. Stall for time. When our men arrive, we’ll take her and the antidote.” Conrad’s eyes shed with malice.

“Good n.” Terence nodded, pleased. His son was clever—just like him.

Davina heard none of the whispering, but she had a good idea what they were plotting.
