?Chapter 1222:
They were sure that once anything went wrong during the restoration, Magnus wouldn’t be able to shield her and would end up taking the fall alongside her.
“After you,” Magnus said with a cheesy grin, gesturing for Christina to lead the way like he was rolling out a red carpet.
Christina stepped ahead, and Magnus followed right on her heels.
As they passed the trio of old men, Magnus scoffed loudly, wearing a smug look.
He was dead sure that once Christina showed her skills, their cocky attitudes would crumble and they might even try to fight for a chance to be her students.
That thought made Magnus tense up. He had to stay alert in case those guys tried to snatch his status as Christina’s student.
No way was he letting that happen.
Fired up, Magnus picked up speed and caught up to Christina.
“Christina…” Magnus called, his voice trailing off like he wasn’t sure what to say next.
Christina gave him a small frown and said gently, “Magnus, just spit it out. What’s bugging you?”
“I was just thinking…” Magnus looked around like a paranoid squirrel, checking if anyone was eavesdropping. Once he saw the coast was clear, he eased up.
He leaned in and dropped his voice to a whisper. “If you’re nning to take on any more students?”
“Nope,” Christina said instantly—no hesitation, no second thoughts.
“Seriously?” Magnus lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. He felt like jumping, but his knees would have cursed him for it.
“Yes. You’re it, Magnus. When ites to restoring antiques, you’re my only student. If you ever want to teach others, go for it. You don’t need to ask me,” Christina answered gently.
???????? ?????????????? ???????? ???? ?????????ν?????????????
“Thank God.” Magnus chuckled, sounding like he’d just dodged a bullet.
Christina tilted her head. “Why’d you ask, anyway?”
Magnus looked back and grinned like he knew a secret. “Because once they see what you can do, they’ll be lining up, begging to learn from you.”
Christinaughed, shaking her head. “You’reying it on thick.”
“Not at all. You’re in high demand right now. You really need to be careful and protect yourself. Once people actually see what you’re capable of, they’ll all be fighting to be your students,” Magnus said withplete sincerity, his face serious.
It wasn’t only people in the antique restoration world who wanted to learn from Christina; even professionals in the medical field were eager to be her students.
Even Calvin was among those who wanted to study under her, though his work in medicine waspletely different from Magnus’s specialty in restoration.
