?Chapter 1223:
Magnus was simply waiting for the day when all those doubters would be proven wrong.
Christina smiled warmly. “Thanks for looking out for me.”
Soon they arrived at the site.
Christina stood before an ancient mural, the faint smell of age and mustiness still hanging in the air around it.
The entire wall was nketed with worn, weathered paintings. Large sections had crumbled and peeled away over time, and the colors that must have once been vibrant and bold had long since dulled and faded.
The mural showed countless figures, and despite the damage, they still gave off an unbelievable beauty. Time had only added to the mural’s mysterious and profound atmosphere.
“If this mural can actually be restored, it’s going to be breathtaking,” Christina whispered, her voice filled with genuine admiration.
“Christina, are you really sure you have confidence in restoring this thing?” Magnus asked, his voice tight with worry.
“Of course I am,” Christina answered immediately without even pausing to think, her voice radiating confidence.
A sharp, mocking voice suddenly cut through the air from behind them. “How arrogant! If you actually dare to gamble on the slim chance of pulling this off, I’d bow down and acknowledge you as my mentor.”
“Same for me,” another elderly man sneered.
The three elderly men spoke with tant scorn and disrespect.
“Oh,e on now! Give the girl some credit. Magnus is vouching for her personally, so she’s got to be pretty exceptional at what she does,” another elderly man spoke up in her defense, but he was immediately met with warning res from those three.
?????????? ???????? ???????? ???????????? — ????????????: ????????????????﹒??????
He quickly shut his mouth and fell silent, not wanting to offend them. Even though they were all around the same age, those three men held much higher positions than he did.
Christina gave a soft smile as her eyes swept over the three elders.
Her smile looked gentle, harmless even—but her eyes were sharp as knives.
A chill ran down the elders’ spines, though they couldn’t exin why.
What was going on here? How could someone so young have such an intimidating presence?
It felt like a rock had suddenly dropped onto their chests, making it hard to even breathe.
Then she said it—cool as ice. “No matter what, I wouldn’t take you three as students. You’re just not qualified.”
