Chapter 775 - 0777: Somewhat Scared

Chapter 775: Chapter 0777: Somewhat Scared

Yang Kun raised his eyebrows, neither confirming nor denying what Yang Ping said. After all, Yang Ping knew what he was thinking, and so did he.

"Ah, I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been here too long, but my head feels dizzy. I’m going to sleep for a bit. Keep a good watch over her, and let me know if there’s any movement outside!" Yawning, Yang Kun stretchedzily, clearly showing signs of extreme fatigue.

In the shabby warehouse, there wasn’t much furniture except for a few broken chairs and a damaged table. He randomly picked a table that looked rtively clean to lie on and repeated his instructions to Yang Ping, who readily agreed.

Watching Yang Kun stagger as he walked, a gleam of joy shed in Yang Ping’s eyes. He knew the sedative in his cigarette was beginning to take effect. He had been puzzled about why the sedative hadn’t worked for so long, but it seemed that it was not ineffective, just slow.

"Can you sleep here? Do you want to move to a morefortable ce?" Yang Ping approached Yang Kun, who was now lying on the table using one arm as a pillow and the other resting on his stomach.

Yang Kun yawned again and shook his head, "No need, all around us are just dpidated warehouses, the environment is the same everywhere. I’d rather stay here, I feel more at ease with you watching over me."

Yang Ping’s eyes flickered and he agreed, "Right, then you have a good rest. I’ll keep watch."

Yang Kun seemed reassured, muttered a few words, and soon fell into a deep sleep. Yang Ping stayed by his side, gazing intently at Yang Kun who was breathing steadily on the table, his expressionplex.

While earlier loosening Mu Bingtong’s ropes, Yang Ping had also moved the chair she was sitting on, so it no longer faced directly into the sunlighting through the old window ss. During his conversation with Yang Kun, Mu Bingtong gradually regained consciousness and her eyes adjusted to the dim light of the warehouse.

Seeing how familiar Yang Ping was with Yang Kun, anger shed in Mu Bingtong’s eyes, but even more, disappointment. Although she didn’t n to forgive Yang Ping, ever since her vision had adjusted, she had been watching Yang Ping and Yang Kun, naturally to find an opportunity to escape. Now, seeing Yang Kun appearing to be asleep on the table, and Yang Ping staring nkly at Yang Kun, she began carefully fraying the nylon rope binding her hands. Although it wasn’t much, it eased some of her anxiety.

While carefully fraying the rope, she kept an eye on Yang Ping’s movements, leading to a startling discovery.

Yang Ping, after watching Yang Kun for a while, suddenly drew a sharp dagger from his body, one with a very sharp edge. Even in the dim warehouse, it emitted a sinister cold light.

Holding the dagger, Yang Ping slowly approached Yang Kun, his gaze shifting between Yang Kun’s neck and heart, searching for a spot to deliver a fatal blow. Otherwise, it would be too troublesome.

After a long watch, he decided the neck was the best target—it was exposed and vulnerable. With enough force, Yang Kun would undoubtedly die.

With such thoughts, Yang Ping, holding a dagger, neared Yang Kun. Not far away, Mu Bingtong’s eyes widened. She couldn’t care that she was still kidnapped by Yang Kun, and she immediately shouted, "Yang Ping, what are you doing?!"

Yang Ping had been all set to sh Yang Kun’s throat, but Mu Bingtong’s shout made all the courage he had muster copse.

’tter!’ The dagger slipped from his hand and fell to the ground, making a crisp sound, and Yang Ping himself copsed onto the ground like a deted ball, withrge beads of sweat on his forehead.

Although he had killed people before, Yang Kun was, after all, someone he had grown up with since childhood. Plus, even though Yang Kun often called him useless, that was after their rtionship became strained. Before that, they had been very close, practically inseparable, and Yang Kun had always been protective of him.

Thinking back to those times, a hint of warmth finally appeared in Yang Ping’s eyes. But then, thinking about how he had almost killed Yang Kun just now, his heart turned cold again. He didn’t know what he had been thinking; probably, Yang Kun was too powerful, and he was no match for him now.

Initially, he had only thought of using a sedative to knock Yang Kun out and then escape with Mu Bingtong. But somehow, he ended up wanting to assassinate Yang Kun instead—a development that had been beyond his own expectations. So, he sat on the ground for a long time before finally regaining his strength.

He couldn’t imagine, if it weren’t for Mu Bingtong’s startled shout that woke him up, would he have killed Yang Kun by now? The more Yang Ping thought about it, the more terrified he became. Struggling, he stood up from the ground, steadying himself by holding onto the table where Yang Kun was sleeping.

Looking at Yang Kun, who was breathing peacefully on the table and still warm without any blood, Yang Ping gradually calmed down.

"What are you doing, Yang Ping?!" Mu Bingtong called him again from not far away. He turned his head and saw Mu Bingtong’s worried gaze.

Mu Bingtong was angry because of Yang Ping conspiring with Yang Kun to kidnap her and didn’t want to pay him any attention. But Yang Kun was still a living person, and if he were killed in his sleep, especially by someone she knew and right before her eyes, it was something Mu Bingtong could not ept. That’s why she had raised her voice just now to warn Yang Ping.

Most importantly, in their past interactions, Mu Bingtong knew that Yang Ping wasn’t a bad person. Although the incident this time indeed made her angry, anger aside, if she had to watch Yang Ping stain his hands with blood right in front of her, Mu Bingtong couldn’t stand it.

Coming to his senses, Yang Ping picked up the dagger from the ground and staggered towards Mu Bingtong. Seeing Yang Ping approaching with the dagger, a flicker of panic shed in her eyes, which Yang Ping caught.

He gave a bitter smile, thinking that from this moment on, he would probably no longer be considered a good person in Mu Bingtong’s heart. He slowed his pace, pointed the tip of the dagger at himself, and then slowly walked toward Mu Bingtong.

Mu Bingtong scrutinized Yang Ping’s eyes, seeing that his expression was calm and not crazed, she slowly let out a breath of relief, though she was actually somewhat scared by what had just transpired.
