Chapter 774: 0776: Worrying About You

Chapter 774: Chapter 0776: Worrying About You

“Yang Ping, others may not know you, but don’t I understand you? You’ve always been kind-hearted and lenient, and moreover, you harbor special feelings towards Mu Bingtong. How can I trust you then? Huh? We grew up together, you should know what kind of person I am; I never do things I’m not sure of. But handing Mu Bingtong over to you, I just feel uncertain. You understand what I mean, right?”

Actually, Yang Kun had already realized that Yang Ping was deliberately making up a topic. He sighed inwardly; he had thought that even if everyone else turned against him, at least he still had this childhood friend. Although he truly despised this childhood friend because Yang Ping was really useless, in Yang Kun’s heart, a childhood friend is still a childhood friend. Only he can look down on him, not others. He can bully him, but others can’t.

He let Yang Pinge over also to give Yang Ping a chance. As long as Yang Ping was willing to stand by his side, after today’s events, if he seeded, he would definitely make sure Yang Ping enjoyed endless glory and wealth. Yang Ping would be his, Yang Kun’s,ughing mate for life. But from the looks of it now, it seemed all these were just Yang Kun’s own wishful thinking; Yang Ping didn’t really care about his childhood friend at all.

Even daring to show tricks right before him, under his watch. If that was the case, then Yang Kun wouldn’t be med for being ruthless. He also wanted to see, to see what kind of tricks this useless Yang Ping could y.

Simply put, from the time Yang Kun started responding to Yang Ping, Yang Ping was no longer Yang Kun’s childhood brother, at least not in Yang Kun’s heart. And in Yang Ping’s heart, from the time Yang Kun used him to kidnap Mu Bingtong, Yang Kun was no longer a brother to him either. It was just that both of them had their own thoughts, and nobody burst each other’s bubble.

Yang Ping took out a pack of cigarettes from his bag, which were expensive foreign imports. He offered one to Yang Kun, who had a sh of sharpness in his eyes, said nothing, and took the cigarette.

Yang Kun did not wait for Yang Ping to light it for him; he already pulled out a lighter and lit the cigarette himself. Yang Ping watched Yang Kun take a drag and then lit his own cigarette.

“Yang Kun, you should know, Mu Bingtong means something different to me, you can’t joke about her with me,” Yang Ping said patiently, without the rushed demeanor from earlier.

Yang Kun seemed not to notice the change in Yang Ping, nor did he answer his words. He just bowed his head and took several deep drags of his cigarette, with a flicker in his eyes, a trace of relief crossing the bottom of his eyes.

This was no ordinary cigarette; it was a specially made cigarette by Yang Ping. Although the packaging appeared to be just a regr brand, the contents had long been tampered with. Yang Ping had formted this himself; although not gifted in martial arts and never able to learn it, his skill in poisoning was indeed formidable. The cigarette contained a sedative which, because of the cigarette’s own aroma, could hardly be detected during smoking.

Yang Kun quickly finished the cigarette in just a few puffs, flicked the cigarette butt to the ground, and stomped on it. He then pulled out a pack of chewing gum from his pocket, stuffed two into his mouth, and offered some to Yang Ping, “You want some?”

Yang Ping originally did not n to ept, given Yang Kun’s unpredictable actions. Since he had thought of adding a sedative in the cigarette given to Yang Kun, who knew if Kun might have tampered with the chewing gum. But seeing Yang Kun’s expression, and considering that just now he had handed a cigarette to Yang Kun without any suspicion from him, Yang Ping hesitated and then epted the gum, but only took one piece.

Yang Kun watched as Yang Ping threw away the cigarette in his hand and ate his own piece of gum, his eyes narrowed, his expression a mocking smile.

In reality, the cigarette Yang Ping handed to him had been tampered with. The moment Yang Ping pulled out the cigarette, Yang Kun knew. Coincidentally, he had encountered something simr recently. Yang Ping thought his actions were wless and that Yang Kun wouldn’t know, but he didn’t realize that Yang Kun had mastered the knowledge long ago and had simply chosen not to speak up.

The gum that Yang Kun had just eaten was a diluent, inherently toxic, but he had eaten two differently colored pieces of gum. One was toxic, butbined, they neutralized each other and even diluted the sedative that Yang Ping thought he had administered sessfully.

This meant that the sedative in Yang Ping’s cigarette hadn’t even begun to take effect before it was neutralized by the gum Yang Kun had ingested. Yang Ping, however, was still unaware.

If Yang Ping had no ill intentions and had confidently eaten both pieces of gum, nothing would have happened to him. But, harboring guilty intentions of his own, he suspected others of the same, thus he only ate one piece—unaware that it was the poisoned one.

In less than half an hour, Yang Ping would feel his body go limp and his limbs too heavy to lift. This would be the drug taking effect. Yang Kun crossed his arms, leaning against the wall. Even in the shadows, his tall figure was discernible.

“Are we just going to wait here for Chu Ge?” Yang Ping asked from the other side.

Yang Kun smiled, looking at Yang Ping as if he was an idiot, “When did you be so foolish? If I kidnapped Mu Bingtong just to see Chu Ge, why would I spend so much time?”

Yang Ping felt very ufortable under Yang Kun’s gaze but didn’t dare do anything about it. He had to bide his time as the drug in the cigarette hadn’t begun affecting him yet, so he tried to ingratiate himself with Chu Ge.

“You’re right, I was confused. I’m just curious, if Chu Ge can’t find this ce, are you going to keep Mu Bingtong locked up like this? Look, it’s been all morning and look at her condition. I’m afraid she won’tst much longer,” he said, trying to appear impartial, but didn’t dare nce towards Mu Bingtong, fearing he’d be unable to resist immediately taking her away.

Yang Kun sneered sarcastically, “If you feel sorry for her, just say so. Why make up so many excuses?”

Yang Ping’s face stiffened; he did indeed feel deeply sorry for her but couldn’t show it.

“Heh, even if I feel sorry for her, you’re still an old friend. I have to consider you too.”
