Chapter 776: Chapter 0778: Love’s Selfishness

But she soon calmed down, naturally stemming from her previous impressions of Yang Ping and the guilt in his eyes. She knew that Yang Ping also didn’t feel at ease about kidnapping her.
"I didn’t mean to hurt you, I just wanted to untie you," Yang Ping said softly, using the dagger to carefully cut through the ropes binding Mu Bingtong. But the ropes were made of some tough material, and even with the sharp dagger in Yang Ping’s hands, they were not easily severed; it would take some time.
"You just now...?" Mu Bingtong only asked these three words, notpleting her question, but both she and Yang Ping knew what she was going to ask—it was whether he had just been about to kill Yang Kun.
Yang Ping didn’t deny it, first nodding his head, then remembering that he was behind Mu Bingtong, cutting the nylon ropes with a dagger and that she couldn’t see his face, he just grunted in response and then exined to her: "Yang Kun is cruel and ruthless; I just wanted to save you. I was just nervous just now and thought by killing him, there would be nothing to fear."
From the moment Yang Ping approached with the dagger to cut her ropes, Mu Bingtong had already guessed his intentions. Now hearing Yang Ping’s confession aligned with her suspicion, she sighed lightly and said, "Actually, there’s no need for all that. If you kill him, you’ll have blood on your hands and bear the burden of a life. The rest of your life won’t be easy, so why bother?"
"Yeah, I know," Yang Ping replied in a low voice, then seeming to remember something, he suddenly lifted his head to look at Mu Bingtong, but could only see the back of her head, his eyes, however, shone brightly.
"Bingtong, just now, were you worried about me?" Yang Ping asked quietly, his eyes full of hope—a hope that Mu Bingtong could not see.
Her lips pursed slightly. She was just following her heart, and indeed, she had previously considered Yang Ping a friend. There was a rtionship there, but Yang Ping’s implication was clearly not the one she understood. After thinking it over, Mu Bingtong chose to remain silent.
Yang Ping waited a while but did not hear a response from Mu Bingtong. A self-mocking look shed in his eyes, and he did not continue to press the issue; he should have known the answer, shouldn’t he?
The atmosphere between the two became somewhat awkward. Mu Bingtong looked down at the ground, and Yang Ping concentrated on cutting the ropes for her. Neither of them noticed that Yang Kun, who had been lying on the table pretending to be asleep, was now up. Not only was there no hint of confusion or drowsiness on his face, but instead, he seemed very pleased. Meanwhile, sweat beads were increasingly evident on Yang Ping’s forehead, and he felt his strength to cut the ropes waning.
Shaking his head, Yang Ping felt like he was neglecting something, but he couldn’t remember what.
From the beginning, Yang Kun had never intended to sleep. He had deliberately imed to be sleeping to make Yang Ping reveal his tail. When Yang Ping nned to kill him, Yang Kun was actually on edge, yet still pretended to be sound asleep, which the overly anxious Yang Ping failed to notice.
At that moment, Yang Kun was prepared; if Yang Ping truly dared to stab him with the dagger, he would instantly counterattack. But then, Mu Bingtong’s outburst startled Yang Ping, and he did not dare to proceed with the killing.
Even so, Yang Kun still harbored a deep hatred for Yang Ping, and by now, he estimated that the poison in Yang Ping’s body should have started to take effect. No longer bothering with the pretense, he simply stood up.
In fact, Yang Kun could deal with Yang Ping even without using a sedative. However, Yang Kun wanted Yang Ping to understand that it had always been Yang Kun manipting others; no one manipted Yang Kun, and anyone who dared to scheme against Yang Kun would inevitably pay the price.
At this moment, Mu Bingtong, distracted by Yang Ping helping her with the ropes, let down her guard and did not look up as frequently to check on Yang Kun as before. So when a shadow appeared before her, her blood ran cold all at once.
Stunned, she looked up to find Yang Kun smiling down at her.
"Ah!" Mu Bingtong screamed, startling Yang Ping, who ignored his weak body and immediately straightened up, "What’s wrong, Bingtong..."
Halfway through his sentence, upon seeing the man standing in front of Mu Bingtong, Yang Ping’s face initially froze, then he expressed shock, turned deathly pale, and fell back two steps involuntarily. Having been drugged, his body swayed uncontrobly, and he copsed to the ground.
"You, you are alright?" Yang Ping didn’t know if his voice conveyed shock or fear, but looking at Yang Kun with a smile, he felt a sense of imminent death.
ncing fearfully, Yang Kun didn’t bother with the frightened Mu Bingtong and slowly walked towards Yang Ping.
Yang Ping surreptitiously nced at the ropes on Mu Bingtong, noting there was not much left. With a little effort, Mu Bingtong could easily break free.
Feeling his body growing weaker and limbs powerless, Yang Ping realized the problem was with the gum he had earlier. He looked directly at Yang Kun and said with a weak smile, "It seems I have indeed underestimated you."
"You did underestimate me, and now you cannot escape. There’s no point in backing away; it’s futile," Yang Kun said coldly, his eyes aze with anger from Yang Ping’s previous attempts to kill him.
Yang Ping knew he probably couldn’t leave this ce today, but Mu Bingtong shouldn’t stay here either.
Deciding in his heart, Yang Ping suddenly stopped moving. As Yang Kun approached him, he suddenly grabbed hold of Yang Kun’s leg with all his strength.
Yang Kun’s gaze turned icy as he kicked Yang Ping’s chest without hesitation, and Yang Ping immediately spat out blood.
"Bingtong, run! Go! Hurry, leave this ce!" While gripping Yang Kun’s thigh, Yang Ping yelled with all his might to Mu Bingtong, who, stunned for a moment, quickly began to struggle.
Yang Kun only nced back briefly before resuming his assault, brutally kicking Yang Ping’s chest repeatedly. Yang Ping ’gagged’ and coughed up more blood, his body lying broken on the ground.
He could feel his life ebbing away, but this was thest thing he could do for Mu Bingtong. Watching her retreating figure, he murmured, "Bingtong, I’m sorry. If I had another chance to do it over, I definitely wouldn’t help Yang Kun kidnap you. The reason I kidnapped you was only because I loved you too much. But my love was too selfish, I hope you can forgive me."
Although Yang Ping’s voice was not loud, in the quiet warehouse, it was particrly clear. Mu Bingtong’s eyes reddened, and she turned her head to look at Yang Ping, who managed to squeeze out a smile toward her.
