?Chapter 3159:
“That’ll do.” Ernest signaled to the executive beside him. “Miss Dixon, you may leave. Next candidate, pleasee in.”
Bethany rose, bowed politely, and exited the room.
Once outside, she exhaled sharply, clenched her fists, and even hopped in excitement.
She believed the interview had gone perfectly, though that wasn’t what truly thrilled her. Given her résumé, she had expected to perform well.
What truly exhrated her was the CEO of thispany—Ernest himself.
After finishing the interviews, Ernest headed straight back to his office and stepped into the lounge.
Elissa sat on the sofa by the window, her head bowed as she carefully stitched a tiny pendant shaped like Joy.
??о??????a?? ????or??е?? о? ????????оv?????.??????
A few days earlier, she had sewn a small charm modeled after Locke’s likeness.
When Joy saw it, a flicker of envy crossed her face.
So Elissa promised the little girl she would craft a custom charm just for her.
Hearing footsteps, she nced up and smiled at Ernest. “All finished?”
“Yes, all done.” Ernest stepped closer, his eyes falling on the tiny charm in her hands. Despite its chibi style, it captured Joy’s likeness perfectly.
He crouched down before her and asked gently, “Shall we go eat?”
“All right,” Elissa agreed, her fingers still moving. “I’ll justplete these two stitches first.”
Worried she might prick her finger, Ernest didn’t hurry her. “Take your time, no rush.”
A gentle knock came from the door.
“Sir,” Quentin’s voice came from outside.
“Come in,” Ernest said.
The next moment, Quentin swung the door open—and found Ernest crouched before Elissa, his gaze fixed on her intently.
“What is it?” Ernest asked, his eyes never leaving Elissa.
“Sir, we’ve just received a phone call.” Quentin wasted no time. “The results from that award earlier are in—and you made the list.”
“Hmm?” Ernest hesitated briefly before understanding what Quentin meant. “Oh, yes, that.”
Elissa listened, feeling the conversation was wrapped in riddles. “What do you mean? What award?”
“Miss Hond.” With a smile, Quentin announced, “Mr. Flynn has just been selected among the National Top Ten Outstanding Youths of the Year.”
Elissa blinked, momentarily speechless. Taking a moment to absorb the information, she then reacted.
Elissa gazed at Ernest with admiration and eximed, “That’s incredible!”
“It’s nothing special,” Ernest said modestly, seeing the award simply as recognition of his work in technology and economics. It served as a reminder to the Flynn Group to push forward and reach new heights.
Noticing Elissa had finished stitching, he asked softly, “All done?”
“Yes, all done.”
“Then let’s go eat something,” he suggested with a gentle smile.
Since Elissa was still healing, she couldn’t afford to skip a meal.
As evening fell, they made their way back to Flynn Mansion. The entire family had already caught wind of Ernest’s recognition as one of the Top Ten Outstanding Youths.
Hadley asked with genuine interest, “Will there be an award ceremony? Or will they simply notify you and mail a medal or something?”
Eric leaned against Hadley and said, “Yes, there’ll be an award ceremony. A red carpet event too, shown live on air.”
“Is it really that grand?” Hadley seemed surprised.
“I’m not nning to attend,” Ernest said with a frown. He had never been fond of lively gatherings.
Especially events like this, which offered no real benefit to thepany—he felt even less motivated to attend.
“Why not?” Hadley asked, shaking her head with mild disapproval. “Ernest, you really need to change your mindset… We’re living in the Inte age now. Many business leaders have gone viral online, helping theirpanies grow.”
“Exactly,” Eric said with a grin, watching the other man with amusement.
“Tsk.” With a deeper frown, Ernest said, “That’s not something I need.”
“No, you actually do,” Hadley told Ernest with a knowing look. “Consider the scale—red carpet, a vibrant asion, and broadcasts on both television and online.”
Ernest and Eric exchanged puzzled looks, wondering what Hadley meant by that.
Hadley grinned and added, “When that happens, the whole family’s going for sure! Ernest, maybe you could help sponsor the event as well.”
Then she looked at Eric. “Don’t you agree?”
