?Chapter 3135:
A soft chuckle slipped from Ernest. He couldn’t keep the joy out of his voice as he whispered, “Did you hear that? Your mom just gave us her blessing. Once Grandma joins us for dinner, it’s settled for good!”
“Huh?” But Elissa’s expression didn’t light up; instead, a faint furrow formed between her brows.
Ernest noticed at once, his excitement fading. “What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?”
She didn’t answer right away. In a small, uncertain voice, she asked, “But… what if your grandma doesn’t like me?”
Huh?
A look of surprise flickered across Ernest’s face. They really thought she was slow? Was she already worrying about this? How could anyone ever call her slow?
“She’d never do that.” He bent down, gently holding her face in his hands. “You don’t know how much Grandma cares about you. Even though she hasn’t been well, she still traveled all the way to Ontmond just to see you.”
He continued, “There’s no reason to worry. Grandma has already met you before. If things hadn’t gone wrong back then, we’d probably already be married.”
And that wasn’t just talk. He meant every word.
?????t????? ??сces?? ??? ?????????????????.co??
Long before everything happened, marriage had already been on their minds.
“And your mom didn’t kick me out!” Ernest touched his forehead to hers, their noses nearly brushing. “So today’s a holiday for us. We finally get to spend a whole day together. Isn’t that wonderful?”
Elissa blushed, unable to find words.
A gentleugh slipped from Ernest. “I’m really happy,” he said with a grin.
Then he leaned in, kissing her softly.
For a moment, the world grew perfectly still.
Nothing but the sound of their breathing and the faint brush of hair against skin disturbed the quiet, each little noise sweet and lingering in the silence.
That night, once he was back at the vi, Ernest went straight to N.
“Wonderful!” N’s smile stretched wide, her head nodding eagerly as she lit up with excitement.
She had pulled this off herself—rallying her family and seeing all her ns fall into ce. How could she not feel a burst of happiness at the result?
“Whenever works for me. Just arrange it with Elissa’s mother.”
“Perfect!” He decided it was best to let Savannah take the lead on the arrangements from there.
Eventually, theynded on theing weekend as the best time.
By then, it had been a full week since N’sst visit.
Savannah had thought about postponing, but when she recalled how tired and weak N seemed, she quickly changed her mind.
On top of that, Ernest had already been holed up in Ontmond for ages—wasn’t anyone at thepany noticing his absence? If these families were really going to be joined for good, all these practicalities had to be faced head-on.
This would actually be Savannah’s very first time discussing marriage issues with her future inws.
Back when Elissa was with Robin, there hadn’t even been so much as a family meeting—there was simply nothing there. Elissa wound up making her way to Srixby in aplete haze, with no idea what she was getting into.
But now, for once, Savannah would finally get to lift her chin, watching her daughter walk down the aisle with pride.
