Chapter 3136

    Chapter 3136:

This visit carried a different meaning. When N and Ernest arrived, Savannah and Neville were already waiting near the door. William stood beside them, and Elissa lingered slightly behind her family in a green dress that made her seem like a burst of spring after a long winter.

Ernest’s eyesnded on her and refused to drift elsewhere.AdChoicesADVERTISING

N stepped forward with a warm smile. “Mr. and Mrs. Brown, I hope I’m not bothering you again.”

“Mrs. Flynn, I hope you’re feeling better,” Savannah responded, relieved to see that N looked far healthier than before.

The summer weather seemed to be kind to her.

“I am managing,” N replied. After several pleasant greetings were exchanged, her gaze softened as it settled on Elissa.

“Elissa?” She stretched a hand toward her.

Nervousness crept up on Elissa, and she instinctively looked in Ernest’s direction.

Ernest answered her silent plea with a small nod and mouthed, “Do not worry.”

His quiet reassurance steadied her heartbeat, and she stepped forward to take N’s hand.

“Good girl,” said N, paying no mind to whatever passed silently between the younger ones. She held Elissa’s hand and looked her over with fond eyes. “You look well, only a bit too thin. Take your time to regain your strength. Patience is key.” She then gave Savannah a smile that carried its own meaning. “Too much haste can backfire.”

“That’s true,” Savannah agreed without hesitation.

Neville smiled kindly. “Pleasee inside, Mrs. Flynn, Mr. Flynn.”

Since dinner was still in the oven, N, Savannah, and Elissa settled together in the parlor for conversation. Neville and William led Ernest to another corner for a private talk.

After the parlor door shut behind the men, N and Savannah sat across from each other. Elissa was guided to sit close to N.

“Mrs. Brown.” N shifted nearer to Elissa and held her hand gently as she addressed Savannah. “For thest three generations, we’ve had a rather simple family structure in our Flynn family.”

Savannah was aware that N only had two grandsons, Ernest and Eric. And she was well aware of how the two brothers got along.

“You do not need to concern yourself with the younger one,” N exined with clear confidence. “He has great respect for his older brother, so he will naturally treat Elissa with care and respect as well. His wife, Hadley, whom I took in as my granddaughter after her own grandma—one of my closest friends—passed away…” N gave Elissa’s hand a light pat and smiled. “She’s friends with Elissa. They get along well.”

    “That’s correct.” Savannah nodded.

“Then there should be no trouble among them,” N added.

Savannah felt ease settle in her chest.

Marriage involved far more than the bride and groom. The families behind them mattered just as much.

There had been a reason Savannah had refused to let Elissa follow Robin to Srixby back then. Part of it stemmed from herck of regard for the Torres family.

“Elissa, there’s no reason to rush anything,” N spoke with kindness. “Spend your days recovering while taking care of Ethan. And Locke is still a child. He needs his mother. Whateveres next can be consideredter, when the time is right.”

Those words made Savannah smile with gratitude.
